This does a decent job of chopping - but I have trouble with the chopper getting sticking in the pressed down position. Also - it comes apart to clean which is great - but you can't clean the blades very easily because you have to have the blade pushed out to clean them - its hard to push… read full review »

Handy little item

A practical chef, a busy person, not a fan of handwashing dishes!

I have had one of these little choppers for some time. I do like it. Especially since the kids are all grown and I am just cooking for two! The fact that it just chops small amounts is fine with me. But even when I have to chop more than once, it is fine with me and worth the trouble. It is simple to clean, easy to use and easy to store. This is an item I picked up at one of those annoying home shows! It's a food chopper. The demo was performed using just walnuts, but over the years I've used it for so much more. It's basically a handle that you slam or press down, which releases blades into a guarded compartment. Anything in the compartment gets chopped, minced or pulverized. It comes apart into three pieces and is dishwasher safe, so you'll always get all the "gunk" out. The handles and container are plastic and the blades are stainless steel. My daughter gave me this item as a gift. I used it at least once a week for 4 years. It's perfect for small chopping jobs, quick and convenient. Also, very easy to clean afterward. The blades remained sharp and effective in chopping everything I put in it - from nuts to ripe tomatoes. Unfortunately, the clear plastic side ring cracked and I had to throw it out. Trying to be practical, I purchased a less expensive chopper from a local retailer. I use this chopper almost everyday!!

practical, a busy person, lover of things that make cooking easier, loving this product, not the best cook, but I try!

I have 2 of these because I use it so much. I love all Pampered Chef products, but this one has to be the most important to me. I can chop onions so small that my children don't even know that I put them in the recipe. And we all know how important onions can be to flavor certain dishes. I have bought this chopper for all of my sisters ( I have 5) and they all love it too. This is a must have in the kitchen. No it may not chop a lot at the same time but in the time that it does take to chop things you can chop twice as much. It's a great gadget and gift for those who are always cutting themselves with knives or when you want the children to help out but don't want to give them a knife. The only thing I don't like is that it is a little difficult to clean the blades if something gets stuck up in them. This is the absolute best chopper I have ever owned! I received one as a weding gift 10 years ago- I have used this chopper almost on a daily basis - the only down fall is that the plastic does have cracks in it but it does still do a good job! I love this product. I learned to use this product after making my first batch of homemade salsa. My 2nd batch went so much faster using this chopper! Extremely versatile when used without the rubber cover

My Pampered Chef Cutting Edge Food Chopper is so versatile that I use it without the rubber cover and chop directly on my Correll serving plates because I hate having to drag out my huge cutting board. By spreading the food out on the plate, I am able to lift the chopper, chop, and then move it to the next pile of food and chop some more without having to put the food in the chopper compartment and placing the rubber cover on it. I love my chopper,it makes life in my kitchen a whole lot faster and very easy to use and clean up.I would be lost with out it. If I happen to lose my chopper I would very much indeed buy another one as soon as possible.
