I went to a Pampered Chef party and to my surprise, found some really unique and useful products that were well worth the prices charged. One of the items that I ended up buying was the Pampered Chef Cutting Edge Food Chopper 2585 for $29.50.

My Experience

I will start right off by saying that this chopper is the most convenient, easy to use kitchen gadget that I own. I had always chopped food by hand and boy did it ever become a tedious job when I was throwing a party or attempting a recipe. The more there was to chop, the less I wanted to do it. Thankfully, those days are over.

My Pampered Chef Cutting Edge Food Chopper 2585 actually makes chopping fun. It is so easy to use. If I am cutting up something like onions or potatoes, I quarter them first, place them on a cutting board, and then I place the food chopper directly over the portioned food. I then use the palm of my hand and hit the gray top of the plunger. The number of times I push depends on how finely chopped I want my food. With each push of the plunger, the stainless steel blades rotate and the food is chopped. The more you push, the finer the chop. The blades are so sharp that only a few pushes will chop your food quite fine so be sure to test it out first so you don't end up with mush. Speaking of mush, I am particularly impressed with the fact that when I chop tomatoes, the cut is perfect so the tomatoes look good in a salad. When I chop them by hand they always end up mushy.

When I am through using my chopper, clean up is a snap. The chopper comes apart in four different pieces. I take it apart by holding the mid-section of the food chopper, twisting off the clear piece and then I remove the blade guard. Here is where you need to be careful because the sharp blades are exposed. There are dimples on the left and right side of the mid-section that I pull apart to rinse the blades. I rinse them under warm water to remove any larger food pieces and then I place all parts in the dishwasher, making sure to keep the chopper away from the heating element as the manufacturer recommends. Once my chopper is washed and dried, I simply just put the pieces back together like a puzzle.

I have owned this food chopper for almost two years now and there are only minimal signs of wear, the blades have not rusted and have stayed sharp.

My Final Thoughts

The Pampered Chef Cutting Edge Food Chopper 2585 is truly a quality product that is worth every penny I spent. It is convenient, easy to use, and small enough to store without taking up much cupboard space. I would and have recommended this product and am giving it a well deserved 5 star rating.

I nearly bought this at the last PC party I went to. I wish now that I had. I was fascinated by how it all comes apart. Brilliant. :)

Great review! I have the moldy oldy style of this chopper and really need up upgrade to this smaller, quieter model.
