This apple wedger is far faster, easier, and safer to use than a knife for coring and slicing apples. Ease of Cleaning It can be somewhat difficult to clean the inside of this apple wedger, particularly if it has sat for a little while between the time of cutting apples and the time of cleaning. Bits of skin and juice from the apple can dry onto the sides of the blades, and it is extremely difficult to scrub it out, especially when it builds up in the corners. Durability We have used this apple wedger for several years, both for apples and pears. The blade is still plenty sharp enough, and the frame of the wedger is solid enough that it will not bend easily. None of the blades have bent, leaving it to cut even slices all the way around. Design The handles are wide enough to grip and push down without a danger of accidentally getting a finger under the blade. The plastic cover also helps prevent accidental cuts when not in use.

This is a great product for anybody who likes fruit. Great for mothers, and fathers too. Takes a formerly time consuming job of slicing apples and does it in mere seconds and doesn't leave behind any waste. This is made from heavy steel, and extremely sharp blades. There is a handle to the side to make holding easy. You simply place the slicer on top of the apple, hold it firmly, and push down. It does take some effort, so people with limited hand use may have a problem using this, and I don't advise young kids try this, as the blades can cut fingers. This is a good, quality tool, I have used for many years and it still works like when it was new. Cleaning it is easy. You rinse under hot water, maybe have to scrub a little to remove stubborn bits of apple, but that's it. The only downside to this is the price. Being that it's from Pampered Chef it is more pricey than store brands, but I feel it's worth it if you eat a lot of apples or like to bake pies. This will save you time and prevent wasting any of the apples.

I am totally in love with our Pampered Chef Apple Wedger! This is made of stainless steel and not plastic, therefore it easily slices even the crispest apples. This has come in so handy to encourage me to eat healthy snacks. It only takes a second to slice an apple in to ten slices. This also "cores" the apple. Then put them in a container and off you go! Making me choose a healthier option than a bag of chips or candies. Ease of Cleaning Like most Pampered Chef products, this too is dishwasher safe which makes for fast and easy clean up! Or, if you prefer to hand wash it is very easy to clean there as well. Durability I have had my Apple Wedger for a few years now and it has definitely had its fair share of work-outs. It still works just as great as ever. Design The design of this product is great! Much more sturdy than the others sold at stores that are made of cheap plastic. Those will break under minimal amounts of force.

Pampered Chef has made some great products over the years and their apple wedger is another success. It is a must have for any home. It helps me make healthy snacking choices, because it is quick way to cut up an apple. It is simple to use and leaves the apple cored and sliced within 2 seconds. It saves me time packing lunches and snacks, too. It also doesn't take up a lot of room, so it can easily be stored in any drawer. Ease of Cleaning I rinse mine under the faucet or put it in the dishwasher. If I don't get to the dishes for a few days, I have noticed that sometimes the apple wedger will come out of the dishwasher with little dried apple bits on it. To avoid this, I try to always rinse it off after use, even if it is going in the dishwasher. Durability This product has held up through lots of use. All parts are still intact and there is no rust. Design The apple wedger's handles and rim are all one piece, so it makes it very durable and can withstand the pressure/force of use. I do wish the handles had rubber grips on them though. If my hands are wet from washing the apple, for example, then it can be a little slippery. Also, I have found that many larger apples are too wide to fit through the wedger.

The Pampered Chef apple wedger is the best apple slicer I have ever used. It is sharp enough to cut any apple into uniform wedges. It is great to use if you are serving apple wedges and dip to guests. It really cuts down on the prep time and all the wedges are uniform. Ease of Cleaning The apple wedger cleans well in the dishwasher. I am glad I can put it in the dishwasher because if I was cleaning it by hand I would have to be careful of the blade as it is quite sharp. Durability I have used the apple wedger for several years and it is as sharp as when I bought it. It has withstood numerous washings in the dishwasher. Design The wedger is made of metal. The handles on either side make the wedger easy to hold as you slice through the apple. The blade is sharp enough to cut nicely through any apple. There is a plastic cover that goes over the blade for storage. This makes it easy to store in a drawer without fear of getting cut.

I was at a Pampered Chef party and saw this and wondered if I actually needed an apple wedger. I mean, it seemed like just one more thing that would end up collecting dust in a drawer. I'm happy to report that I actually use it all the time, especially in apple season! I bake and can quite a bit so this is especially handy when cutting apples for applesauce or canning apple wedges. It makes nice, uniform wedges so they cook down quickly and at the same rate. I usually peel my apples first before wedging so I can just pop them right in the pan and it works really well. The wedger makes wedges which are great for snacking as well. I serve them on a plate with a bit of cheese and it makes for a great, nutritious snack. The only thing I don't recommend is trying to use these wedges in a pie. They're much too big to really cook down nicely in a pie and leave rather large chunks which are not ideal. For snacking or cooking this is the go to wedger. It is sturdy, compact, and easy to clean and store.

The Pampered Chef Apple Wedger is the easiest way to cut and core apples to serve as a snack by themselves or with peanut butter. For some reason, I can never cut apples, so this is a must have for my kitchen. The slices are even, and the wedger is sturdy. The blades and handles have never broken for me. I normally only buy products that are dishwasher safe, and I'm glad that this wedger can go thru the dishwasher. I always make sure to put this on the top shelf of the dishwasher, and I have not had any problems with that. Ease of Cleaning This is very easy to clean. I normally put it in the dishwasher, and it does not cause any damage to the wedger. I have washed it by hand a few times in the past, but I think it gets cleaner in the dishwasher. Durability I am still on my first apple wedger. Since it is metal, there aren't any problems with the handles or blades cracking. Design The design of this makes it very easy to cut apple slices that are even in size, while also coring the apple.

I used to hate cutting apples for my son, it was such a hassle, but when I got the Apple Wedger, my life was so much easier. It's easy to use, safe to use, and is so easy to clean. I like the design and I use this at least once or twice a day and it's still like brand new. So durable and useful.

I love this product! Having a two and three year old, I am constantly slicing apples for snack. Add a crying newborn to the mix, and I don't have too much time for preparing snacks. One smooth motion, and tah-dah! My children are fed, and I have time to play with them and take care of the baby. It is made completely out metal, which really keeps it sturdy, unlike the kind with the plastic. I have used it hundreds of time, and it still maintains its sharpness. You get eight slices out of every apple which is perfect for my kids. They each get four slices and don't have to worry about fighting over the last apple slice. And you don't have to worry about cutting yourself with a sharp knife when trying to slice out the core! Washing it isn't perfect, as it is a little hard to clean the corners, but you can manage it. Overall this is one of my most used and favorite kitchen items. I love the design, how easy it is to use, and the quality.
