My husband has high blood sugar so when I am shopping for frozen pizzas, I am limited to the thin crust varieties.  It seemed like I have tried them all and then I saw one that I had never seen before - Palermo's Primo Thin.

I bought the Palermo's Primo Thin Grilled Chicken Caesar pizza because the description on the box sounded delicious: "A crispy, thin crust pizza topped with spicy caesar sauce, grilled white meat chicken, part skim mozzarella, parmesan and romano cheeses, diced onion, parsley and oregano".  The picture looks tantalizing too!

When you take your first bite, the first thing you notice is a tang in the sauce.  It is not a pleasant tang like with Buffalo Chicken Wings, it is a sour kind of tang that doesn't belong on a pizza.  The crust is so thin and crunchy, it seemed more like a cracker than a pizza crust.  The amount of cheese is scarce.  There is a decent amount of chicken and onions, but that was the only good part about this pizza.  It was so thin that I wasn't even satisfied after finishing my half of the pizza.

Nutrition per 1/3 of pizza: 12g fat, 290 calories, 35mg cholesterol, 25g carbs

The Scoop!

My husband actually loved this pizza.  He said that it was delicious and he can't understand why I didn't like it.  Since I have to buy thin crust pizza for my husband and he loved this, I will probably buy another Palermo's pizza, but definitely not a Grilled Chicken Caesar.

I understand. I am borderline hypoglycemic. Diabetes runs on my Dad's side of the family so he is always worrying that something is going to happen to me.

I'm glad you have the compassion to look out for each other. Sometimes I meet people who are out for self and self only. I can't stand a narcissistic person and it drives me crazy to see someone rise to the top at the expense of someone else. It sounds like the two of you are really good at compromising and that is very important in a marriage. Kudos to you for a job well done ;+) ~Gigi

Since it has to do with his health, I don't mind obliging. I don't want him to become diabetic, since he is very close. He makes plenty of compromises for me :)

You are too sweet to consider what your husband likes. Maybe you will find a more pleasant tasting flavor with the next pizza. Or eat chinese or Mexican while he eats Italian ;+) hehe ~Gigi

I kinda liked this pizza, although I don't like the thin crust. I'm a THICK crust pizza kinda guy myself.
