My husband is nuts. He LOVES habanero.

There is nothing wrong with that- but he actually eats them from the garden. But then again, so do the deer (yep, they really do eat them out of the garden- hotter the better).----They are all nuts!

I wonder if they are related?  Although I have suspected that perhaps the deer are immigrants from Mexico--;D

HOW I FOUND MY FAVORITE HOT SAUCE

One thing that I have set myself out to do is to make the perfect hot sauce. We tried many sauces for grilling, salads, etc, but most of them were so hot that the did not have much taste to them.

One day I came upon a bottle of very unique sauce called PAIN IS GOOD JAMAICAN STYLE HOT SAUCE.

The price was right (only $4) for a 6.75 oz bottle, so I purchased one.

When I got home I stuck it on the shelf next to the other gazillion hot sauces waiting for testing. It did not stay there long, however. My husband was all over that one.

The very next night, we were grilling our eggplant and zucchini with it.

WHAT IS THIS SAUCE LIKE?

What makes this sauce so different is that it has scotch bonnet AND habanero peppers in it along with fruit juice and spices, BUT NO ADDED SUGAR!

The flavors that come through with this sauce are addictive. LOTS of flavor along with the hot. It builds on itself the more you eat it, but you can not help yourself. My entire family- even my kids who tend to avoid jalapenos because of the heat- gobble this stuff up every time we get it.

The jerk flavor is delightful along with the heat, but it is not too sweet. Just right.

INGREDIENTS

Here is what is in this sauce:

Ingredients: Habanero peppers, tomato paste, pineapple juice concentrate, water, garlic puree, lime juice concentrate, spices, lemon juice concentrate, onion powder, salt, jerk seasoning. No added preservatives.

HOW WE USE PAIN IS GAIN HABANERO JERK SAUCE

One of our favorite ways to use PAIN IS GAIN HABANERO JERK SAUCE is to mix it in with potato salad. The zesty zing it gives is perfect- just a tiny bit will do it for many people, but we usually use a heaping tablespoon for a whole bowl of potato or macaroni salad.

We also like to use it on steamed vegetables, rice, mixed into olive oil and lemon juice for a marinade for grilled veggies, on fish, and in mashed potatoes.

We even tried it on carob brownies once and went nuts over it- we all liked it.

CLOSING COMMENTS

For those who like unique flavorings in their sauces, PAIN IS GAIN HABANERO JERK SAUCE is a MUST have. I have found it at various food stands and grocery stores that carry unique things.
