PUR's new "one-click" faucet-mount filter is cool!

5

I was amazed at the ease of installing this filter! The adapter screwed on much more easily than their old filter; and attaching the filter to the adapter was truly "one click"! It leaks a bit, but removes pipe lead, pesticides, chlorine odor/taste, makes water taste great!

Quick and easy access. Good taste!

The water tastes great and easy access when you need it. It does tell you when to change it; however, is not accurate. The water goes down to a trickle before the light turns red to change it. It doesn't seem to last too long...maybe 2 months for me. It is better than lugging large gallons from grocery store though.

The PUR faucet mount water filter does its job, and does it well.  We have city water, and can really tell when they have treated the water - running the water from any faucet in the apartment makes the whole place smell like a pool.  We use the water filter on the kitchen faucet, for just about everything, from drinking water for ourselves to drinking water for our 2 birds and cat, ice cubes, Kool-Aid, in the coffee pot and iced tea maker, etc.  The main drawback is the mounting part to put on the spigot to attach the filter - theirs does not seem to work with all faucets.  Brita at least offers different parts (you can order them by phone through an 800 number) if the unit does not mount properly.  It is a really simple installation process.  PUR also has GREAT customer service.  They have a 5 year warranty on the unit itself.  We had a problem with our first couple of units, and replaced them ourselves.  Then I got the bright idea to call the 800 number, since I wanted to let the company know about the problems we had had.  Lo and behold, they very courteously informed me that the unit was warranteed for 5 years, and promptly sent me a new unit, complete with filter, no further questions asked, no need to return the damaged unit.  I do not know what the problem is, but we seem to be very hard on water filter units, and this is a lifesaver, not to mention a money saver.  The water comes out of the unit very fresh and tasty.  We have had a water filter for several years now, and at this point it is a necessity for us, since we drink plenty of water.  It is certainly worth the money for the unit and replacing the filters.  Drinking water is enjoyable again, and the company's customer service means a lot to me.

don't use too much hot water

I had just moved into a new home and new state. The water was not good. So I decided to buy a faucet water filtration system. I decided on the Pur water filtration system. I liked it at first. I changed the first filter and used a new one. The faucet mount housing and the bottom cover started to crack and the water would come out of the cracks. I thought it was because I had put the filter in wrong. So I decided to buy another, because I had other filters and did not want to waste them. Then, the same mishaps started showing on the new filter. I thought again it was me, so I uninstalled and reinstalled the filter to check if I was wrong or not. I did everything by the instructions and tested the filter again for any mistakes. Still, water was leaking from the filter. I decided to contact your hotline, but it didn't help me. Untill now, I have figured that the only way to find help is to give a review on this product. 2/5 stars for PUR| Water Filtration System Thank you, Alicia Lopez

A superior alternative to buying bottled water

4

The Pur Faucet Water Filter is a fantastic alternative to buying bottled water.  Just think of all those plastic water bottles that -- if they don't get recycled -- end up in the landfill, where they will remain virtually forever.  Economically and environmentally, it is much better to get one reusable water bottle and refill it with your own filtered tap water.  Pur filters provide clean-tasting water that is free of many of the chemicals (Chlorine, Benzene) added to it in water treatment facilities.  The carbon microfilter will remove microbial cysts and giardia, which can lead to gastrointestinal illnesses.  It reduces heavy metals in water such as mercury (which causes nerve damage) that seeps into water from the environment as a result of coal-burning power plants, and lead (which causes physical and mental development problems in children, kidney damage in adults) that can be absorbed by water from household plumbing. The fawcet-mounted unit may be a bit bulky and sometimes seems in the way, and that is my one and only complaint about this product.  But that is a small price to pay for cleaner drinking water.  I think it is easier to use than any pitcher-filter system.  All you have to do is flip one switch to turn the filter on or off as desired.  The filter cartridges should be good for approximately 100 gallons of purified water, which makes this a superior alternative to buying bottled water.  When the cartridge clogs up, you just unscrew one end of the fawcet-mounted unit and insert a new filter cartridge.  It's pretty simple and quick.  One cartridge can keep thousands of those  plastic bottles out of the garbage and out of the landfills!

PUR, Purely worthless construction and design.

I have used pitcher filtration for years and was tempted to the faucet purifier by a money saving coupon in the weekly sales fliers. I chose the PUR Faucet Water Stage Two Filtration System. The instructions were easy to read and understand. The installation was easy. I knew that the filtration system would be bulky and would not match the faucet design, but was worth the eyesore to have a convenient clean water purification system. The water taste was great and the ability to switch the filter on and off was very easy and convenient. I found myself using filtered water more often because of the system. With in a few weeks I began to see fine hairline cracks in the main housing of the filter and a few days later it had developed a leak that sprayed like a water gun when the faucet was turned on. When I removed the filter I found that the entire housing was shattered. Thinking that it was just bumped one too many time being in the way and bulky as it was, I replaced it. Once again it shattered and leaked. After calling PUR and explaining my disappointment it was replaced by the more expensive model. Needless to say I am now expecting a refund check from PUR.

A Green way to have great water!

5

In our families effort to go green we decided we used too many plastic water bottles, so we purchased the PUR Faucet Water Filtration System.  I love how easy this was to fit on our kitchen faucet.  No tools required!  I was able to do this all by myself, which is saying a lot for me!  My husband noticed the better tasting water immediately, I did a taste test and he immediately picked the filtered water over the tap water.  I love the convenience of this filter.  My parents have the Brita water pitcher and it seems to take forever to fill.  With this water filtration system, the water is right there, ready when you need it.  Nothing to fill.  The only negative thing I have to say is that it sometimes gets in the way when I have large pots and pans to wash, otherwise it is perfect in every way.  I have had no leaks and no problems.  The filters are very easy to change, I've replaced the filters by myself as well.  I love the chorme color, but I believe it is just chorme colored plastic.  If you are in need of great tasting water, but don't want to pollute our land with water bottles, I highly recommend this!

PUR filtration system is a must have.

I have been using the **PUR Faucet Water Filtration System **ever since I can remember !   I am very uncomfortable drinking water straight out of the tap without my PUR filtration system on it. The water in my town is very bad, hard water and the PUR system helps clean it , and leaves behind a wonderful taste to the water. I can distinctly make out the difference between unpurified , straight out of the tap water and water filtered through my PUR system. The PUR faucet filtration system is very easy to attach to the faucet, one click is all it takes. It filters out all the contaminants, bacteria and even lead content from the water and makes it so much more cleaner and better. It is a little bulky though and if you have a small kitchen sink, it gets in the way sometimes. But it is very easy to remove and fit on the faucet again. So when I need to do my dishes or cleaning I just snap it off and put it back on when I need my drinking water. No more spending money on buying bottled water , get a PUR and you're good to go !! ****

pure, fresh clean water!

I got my pure water filtration system for my Birthday 2009.  My son knew I had been wanting one.  I live in an area where the water not only tastes bad,  but you can see particals in the water when it  settles.  This is a real turn off.  The Pure water filtration system easily mounts to the faucet and delivers clean filtered water.  No more cloudy ice cubes. No more cloudy glasses of water! And I really enjoy the fact that it keeps my coffee maker free of mineral deposites.  The brochure that comes with the kit, explains in scientific detail   the parts per million that is filtered out of the water and what the elements are.  They list things that I had no idea that our government had allowences for and how much of these elements, that were allowed in our water.  This  Pure will surely take out all those nasty things that you really don't want to drink.  I am currently looking at the new model called Flavor Options.  It is the newest model by Pure and has other features besides delivering clean water.  I bought one for a birthday present, so I am already   familiar with the product and I am prepared to write a review about that model.  You can read it here if you like to see if you would like to buy one.  You won't be making a mistake. Believe me. Just look down in your next glass of water after it has settle for a few minutes, and I guarentee, you won't drink it.  Oh, and another great thing, its great for the enviroment, because it saves our landfills from plastic bottles.  Please do your part and contribute to Mother Earth!

Doesn't Work With All Faucets

3

I have used Pur Water Filter Faucet units in every place I've lived.  I drink over a gallon of water a day, so I need water that tastes good.  I have never liked the idea of bottled water.  Besides not being good for the environment, it's a waste of money, in my opinion. The Pur water filter is very easy to install onto the faucet.  This time, though, I had a problem for the first time.  Last year, I had a new gooseneck faucet installed in my kitchen sink.  I put a new Pur unit on, and when I went to use it, water poured out of the bottom of the neck of the faucet.  I called the manufacturer of Pur, Procter & Gamble.  They were kind enough to send a coupon for a new Pur unit.  I put the new one on.  The same thing happened.  I had a plumber check the thing and HE couldn't even figure it out.  So that I wouldn't have water running down the back of my sink, I put a sponge in between the faucet and the backsplash.  I also put a dishcloth at the bottom of the faucet. I finally decided that this wasn't a good situation, as water could be running down under the sink, and that could attract bugs.  I have given up and have gone back to using a Brita pitcher.  I may try again, now that Pur has a new model on the market.  I am hoping that it is lighter.  I'm thinking the model I have is too heavy for the type of faucet I have and is weighing it down.
