Great home option

The Pur attachable water filter is a great way to filter your own water right from the faucet in your own home. By using this system you can avoid bottled water altogether. This system also allows for easy conversion back to unfiltered water for non drinking purposes. A great addition to your sink.

Healthy water to drink!

I used a PUR water filtration system years ago. I don't know why I stopped. My attitude the last time I used a PUR filtration system was that I could drink my water with confidence when I have a PUR water filtration system attached to my faucet. I just got my new PUR water filtration system. My new filter looks great! I love the chrome. It matches my sink perfectly. I got the a new Chrome Advanced Faucet Water Filter and 4 MineralClear® Replacement Water Filters which is an entire year's worth of replacement filters all at once at significant savings. It's very easy to install and easy to replace the filters. It also lets you know when you need to replace the filter and it has a 2 year warranty. When you think of all of the money you will save not buying bottled water, you will be thrilled. It saves so much money in the long run. I hope this go around with my new filtration system is as satisfying as my first experience.

One of the best unexpensive water filtration systems

PUR Chrome Faucet Water Filtration System in my opinion is one of the best filtration systems for those who do not want to spend alot of money. All you have to do is snap the filter on to your water faucet and is that simple. You can tell the difference in taste from filtered water because it does not have that chlorine flavor from tap water.

Pur water filter, blinking red light means STOP do not buy!

2

Bought at Sam Wholesale house and the first month it was easy breezy, but the second month , I changed the filter and the brand new filter blinks red, so I put another new filter on and it blinks red continuously. So I have been reading all the bad reviews and will be taking it back to SAMs tomorrow. I am sad because i really liked the taste of the filtered water.Even though Memphis water is some of the best in the world. It feels good to have it filtered from heavy metals and other crud that could be in our water supply.

Great tasting water, short life span of the unit.

I have mixed emotions about the PUR faucet mount. On the one hand, it gives the best tasting water out of any of the several brands of faucet mount I've tried. On the other, it sprung a leak within a couple months of putting it on the sink. The second one lasted about as long. That's less time than the filter is supposed to last! Why would PUR put such an awesome filter in such a lousy housing? Maybe to keep the cost down? I would pay more if they would make a decent housing for that filter. On that note, buyers need to know that this is not actually made of chrome. It's a plastic housing with a reflective covering on it. Bottom line: this is a fantastic filter in a cheap faucet mount housing.

Not worth the price!

This is a great idea for households like mine where the water tastes horrible and you don't want to keep buying bottled water. First of all calling it "Chrome" may make it sound impressive but it is still ALL PLASTIC! The filters are very expensive also and never last 3 months (says up to 3 months). The worst part is when you use the filter part of the PUR. Yes the water tastes great but the water literally "trickles" out of the filter. Filling my coffee pot or a pan of water takes so long I can leave the room and come back 5 minutes later and it is still filling! I would never recommend this product to anyone! It is cheaply made of all plastic, is expensive to purchase and the filters are also expensive. Looking at the PUR filter you can see that it looks gaudy and cheap!

We couln't live without this

We have been using the pur 3 stage filter for a few years now and we will not drink our tap water if it has not been filtered thru the pur 3 stage filter first.   Our water tends to have a strong chlorine taste and odor so we use the filter to filter most water that we cook with also.  We really do not go through filters all that quickly so it is not that expensive to use in the long run.  It is also much more convenient than using bottled water and I would guess it is also a lot cheaper but I have not done the math to calculate how many gallons we get between filter changes.  I have recommended this to friends and even purchased it as a gift for my mom when she moved into a new house and was buying bottled water.  She loves it too, and wouldn't consider going back to bottled water again.   I do not know if it removes the flouride from the water.  It does however result in water that is clear and clean, and you do not usually buy floridated water anyway.

PUR Faucet is falling apart

3

When I first got the Pur Water Faucet system I loved it. It was quick and simple to use once it was installed. One of the things what was very annoying was when I would have to replace the cartridge  it would be very difficult to open because it had no grips to really grab onto it. I don't know how the newer versions are now, but the old one I have had no grips. I had some difficulties closing it too because either it wouldn't align correctly or there would be a small part sticking out while the rest was closed and tighted. Several months after I got it, it seemed like the water pressure slowed downed when it went through the filter. I'm not sure if it was the filter or if it's because I closed it incorrectly and there was a cover piece of the filter that eventually broke off. A little after a year  the filter started breaking from the connection  to the facet which I don't understand how this could have occured. Very little was done to the filter and the only time I would have to apply pressure was when I would have to replace the cartridge because it was so difficult to remove. Overall it's a nice system, but if they can possibly make it smaller and make it easier to open and close which will decrease the chance of it breaking I'm sure it would get more stars.

Good Tasting Clean Water but It Takes A While & a little Pricey

We purchased the PUR water filter with the quick disconnect and flashing light. We really like the unit. This is a replacement of the last, and very similar, chrome water filter. The last did not quick disconnect and had quality/reliability issues (frequent leaks). We returned two and the third new one was the new style. We like it better and have not had any real issues. The little PUR logo came off. I liked the non electronic indicator better. I never had to worry about a battery going and considered it simpler and subsequently more reliable. Now, I worry I will need to replace the battery if I can. The only two things I don't like about the PUR water system is the new three stage filters. The flow is substantially reduced. IT GOES SLOW. I wish they would modify the cartridges so they had a higher water flowing capacity. If you have a well, the cup of water takes a while, but it is well worth it for clean good tasting water. The other issue is the OVER EXPENSIVE THREE STAGE CARTRIDGES!
