PETCO —
i was a former employee at PETCO's grooming salon. For now, im going to call it the abuse center. SO, i worked at this abuse center (PETCO) for 5 months. i am also a grooming salon owner who was looking to make a few extra bucks. I later witnessed a 4 month of puppy being hit 3-4 times in the face where the tooth went through the lip. the reason he did it was because the puppy would not stay still for the nail clipping. so he jerked her little body around and she got scared. she she tried to get away and he hit her. i held the sweet thing in my arms while it was shaking like a seizure! puppies who are getting their first grooming are very sensitive. you need to be gentle and do whatever it takes to be patient not the ruin the experiance for the puppy forever! i yelled at him saying, "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!?!?" he replied with a simple, "if my dog was being an ***hole, i would have done the sameeeee thing." i reported to the local spca, the manager and owner of this specific store (reading, pa) and did absolutely nothing. spca could not help me out because the owner/manager had a contract where you may not report abuse? i never filled a contract! my life was threatened when the abusive employee found out i had reported the incident. now, i dont know about anyone else but i sure as hell would not want MY pets going to a groomer who will hurt them or ME! i am proud to say that my name is NICOLE BURKEY from Ephrata PA. please dont put your dog in harms way... and that's at PETCO of reading, pa.
