I go to PETCO to have my Llasa Apsa groomed and they do a wonderful job.  The price is very reasonable so I wouldn't change a thing about their grooming salon.  You also earn 1 free groom for every 8 times you pay for it.  I do however have a problem with their dog food and treats.  Their prices are incredibly high compared to the supermarket. I go to my Giant food store and I pay about $2.50 for Beggin Strips.  Petco charges $4.99 for the exact same 6 oz bag.  I buy Nawsomes for about $2.99 at Giant food store but Petco charges an astounding $6.09 for the same exact size.  They have very high prices compared to a store just a few doors away from them.  What I don't get is that they should be buying these items in bulk and at a much larger quantity then the food store...so why are they charging more then twice the amount I can pay elsewhere?  I recommend the grooming salon...I don't recommend buying any pet food whatsoever.  I have told them about this several times but they haven't made any attempt to bring down their prices. I think they are hoping that the general public is stupid or in a hurry or they won't notice.

the reason this is the case is because at supermarkets, distibutors have to pay for a spot to put the idem in their store. Therefore they can afford to keep their prices low. Plus at any supermarket you cannot find everything you need for your animal. For instance you will never find natural or hollistic food in a supermarket. Not to mention they only serve crap food at supermarkets. Any food with different color pellets or shapes have an insane amount of by products in it that are not very good for your animal. And that is exactly what you'll find cheaper at a supermarket.
