Where I live, there are not many choices on where to buy your pet supplies, and even fewer on where to buy pets. Petco has very good prices on supplies, and always seem to have whatever I need in stock. They are fantastic on that end of the business. The other part of the business, which really disturbs me, is the amimals for sale. They have 16 year old children who have no clue how to care for them, telling you all about them. I was standing next to a woman who wanted to buy a reptile for her son. The employee recommended a burmese python, saying they were sweet snakes, and only got to be 5-8 feet long. As soon as he walked away, I informed the woman Burmese are indeed sweet, but also grow to 27 feet and over 200 pounds. Can you imagine what they would have done with a 27 foot long snake? If a person is going to sell animals, the least they can do is train them properly. They have unhealthy, not cared for correctly pets, and it honestly breaks my heart to walk through a Petco animal section.

It is impossible that a 16 year old is working there, as employees must be 18 or older to be employed at Petco.

i work at petco and i have to say. the prices are high, the animals are wel taken care of, and you must be at least 18 to work there. we go through 30 + hours of training of every single animal in the store. if an associate gave you wrong information, it is actually his/her fault for not putting any effort in learning about them. they usually get fired within a month.

Petco is the best. Petco has the best supplies and the best pets. Don't listen to what the other girl says about bad pets. She probablty lives in a poor neighbor hood. I have been to petco and they have the best pets possible. There are no 16 year old miss taking facts at the Petco in East Hanover. the other girl probably didn't go to a petco. Its the best place to get pets and supplies!

Burmese pythons do not commonly grow to 27ft! They average about 18ft. and dwarf or island burmese grow to only about 7ft. Every petco has caresheets with information that is accurate and good in general. So unless a customer is in capable of reading and the fool of an employee doesnt first have them go over it, they have the info correct just a few steps away.

I've never shopped at a PETCO. The closest petstore to me is Petsmart and Pet Supply Plus. This is so sad about how PETCO takes care of the animals ;-( ~Krista Lynn
