I've had my oldest shih tzu groomed at multiple Pet-Co locations, due to convience to where I was living and previous experiences. My dog is about 11 now and has been groomed since a puppy, never have had temperment issues with her in the past, nor have had any complaints. Don't get me wrong, if someone is mean to her, she cowers, but has never bitten. During this grooming experience back in October she was treated horrible, when we went to pick her up from grooming, it was her worst cut ever. Just wanting her to be touched up, we asked that she be fixed, it'd basically take a quick shave, closer then what we wanted, but she would be even. The groomer went off on us, telling me that my dog had horrible manners and was very ill behaved, and I was lucky to not be charged extra for a handling fee. Not happy with the associate, because as she was telling me this, she was waving her hands in my face and slamming things, I asked to speak to a manager. When the manager on duty came to speak to me, the associate went to the back room and continued to slam things around. Remember, I didn't want anything free, just wanted the bad cut to be fixed. It was at this time that the other groomer stated that the groomer that had groomed my dog "had a bad day" and all of her dogs had to be handled. I am a firm believer that animals react to how the people around them are treating them. This associate, who is now their grooming manager, should not groom animals. Stephanie, the associate who finally fixed my dog's cut, did a great job. PetCo later followed up from the complaint I sent to their corporate office by a phone call from the manager who initially took my complaint at the store and said the associate had been recieved training and counciling. Well, due to convience, we went back to the grooming salon tonight, right around the corner from our house, to make an appointment with Stephanie, the groomer who fixed our dog to find out that we were banned from the grooming salon and our dog could not be seen there. The issue was not our fault to begin with, nor were we going back for drama. We gave this company who did not give great service to begin with a fair chance, but then to be told we couldn't use their services, which was decided by the "grooming manager" - the rude associate. I now have another dog, and will not take him there, or my shih tzu back. Nor will I buy products from this store to support a company who does not pride itself on customer service.

Dogs get banned from grooming salons because their parents and/or the dog are huge pains in the ass. If it was so bad the first time, why are you so upset that you can't go back?
