PETCO Review

They're better stocked than most and I've never walked in and been told to come back a few days later as at another chain store.  The service isn't something to be counted on though.  One visit might get you very friendly customer oriented assistance, and the next might get you someone so ready to correct and instruct that they tell you what they actually sold you previously to carry purchases from the store in, they're no longer going to use since it's more difficult for them (that lost them my business for a few months), or you might notice 3 employees grouped and not assisting anyone, but apparently unable to leave their station to help you, leaving you to stand in the area of potential purchase waiting until someone returns 5 or more minutes later.  And then another day and time you'll receive great assistance again.
