PDAs and smartphones belong in the same family but their capabilities do vary slightly. A PDA, also known as a personal digital assistant, can best be described as a handheld computer. PDAs can access the Internet and include a touch screen for entering data. A smartphone is just like a PDA but includes audio technology that allows them to be used as a phone or media player.
Smartphones are overwhelmingly popular in this community because of their multi-functionality. The Samsung Blackjack's laundry list of features and durability make it a favorite. Other people choose the Motorola Q. People that use Microsoft Outlook extensively will appreciate the Motorola Q's synching with Outlook contacts, calendars and email.
