Oxo Seal and Store Rotary Cheese Grater Review

Imagine my surprise when the weekend after I ate at the Olive Garden (reviewed) we spent the weekend with friends and they used the same cheese grater as the Olive Garden. It's terrific which is perhaps why a restaurant and my friends who love to cook both have it.

The OXO Seal and Store Rotary Cheese Grater is advertised as being used not only for cheese but also for chocolate shavings. I've only seen it used to grate cheese.

It can be grated right over the food or we could have grated the cheese in the white, plastic chamber to be emptied out when we were ready to use it. I don't cook much but I like the idea that if I were having friends over I could grate the cheese, put it in the refrigerator and then right before dinner empty it into a dish.

The chamber seals tight so if there are any cheese in it that can be kept in the refrigerator.

It measures 7 inches by 6 inches by 8 inches. The model number is 1052349 and can be seen and bought for $15 at 1052349.

The OXO Cheese Grater is dishwasher safe. It comes apart enough to be able to clean fairly easily. We washed it by hand but I was told that they have put it in the dishwasher as well with no problems.

I found the handle really easy to rotate. I have a touch of arthritis. It's imperative that my tools are easy to use.

I own the stainless steal old fashioned cheese grater and hate it! If I find myself getting into grating cheese the OXO Seal and Store is definitely the one I would buy. It has a lifetime warranty. We grated fairly hard cheese. It went into the chamber and then the top closes. I then just held onto the black knob you see in the picture and turned it and sure enough finely grated cheese came out. Since I don't own it I wanted to make sure my fiends like it and that they found it durable. They both gave a resounding yes.
