I bought the Oxo Good Grips Salad Spinner recently, and I really like it! It's easy to use. All you do is push the central knob down, and the basket starts to spin. Press the brake button to stop the basket, and your lettuce is dry. The bottom does not slide, no matter how wet your kitchen counter. After many years of using the old pull string kind of salad spinner I am extremely pleased to have purchased this one to replace it. What a difference the push down top makes compared to that annoying pull string! This salad spinner beats any others I've tried. It has a push down top ...MUCH BETTER than the kind with the loop on a string that pulls out. The large OXO Salad Spinner is used almost every day in my kitchen. The salad spinner is such a useful tool. It dries your greens quickly but without crushing them in the alternative - a paper towel. Also helps you see if you got them clean enough..check the water! The OXO salad spinner works well and cleans up really well in the dishwasher--kind of surprising since it has so many nooks and crannies that could hold dirt.
