OXO Good Grips Apple Divider, Jar Opener and Pizza Wheel Review

After being married for twelve years, having two children and several animals, I have tried many different brands of kitchen gadgets to make life a little less stressful. Through trial and error, I found that OXO kitchen items are very durable and definitely help make my job at home easier. The following are my favorite small OXO kitchen gadgets that I own and love: 

OXO Good Grips Apple Divider

I cannot count the number of times that I have given my kids whole apples to eat and later found them left on a table or in their room with three or four little bites out of them. What a waste of a good apple. I started slicing the apples for them instead but would have a difficult time getting the knife through and would always end up with some pieces with the seeds in them. A friend suggested that I try the OXO Good Grips Apple Divider and I am so glad that I did!

For a mere $6.99, I got a very durable product that saves me time and apples! With this handy little gadget, I am able to core and slice apples easily and safely. I just simply set the whole washed apple on the counter and while holding the non-slip grip handles of the divider, I pushdown and the sharp blades cut the apple into perfect wedges. My kids gobble up the apples wedges in no time. I just toss the divider into the dishwasher or rinse it under the faucet. OXO 8.5-in. Black-Handled Jar Opener

I remember being a kid and watching my mother in the kitchen struggling to open jars of pickles, sauce and other items. She would bang the top against the sink and run it under hot water to loosen the lid. Eventually, my father would end up doing the task for her. I adopted the same habit until I finally realized that there had to be a better way. I was out and about and found the OXO 8.5 inch Black-Handled Jar Opener for only $7.99. It is available online or in retail stores. 

This jar opener is very easy to use because of the rubberized non-slip handles. It also adjusts to fit any lid size. One quick turn of the gadget and my jar is open. No fuss and no mess. I had mine for about two and a half years and there are minimal signs of wear or tear. The only small detail that I would say to be aware of is that at times the opener slips a little on larger jars.

OXO Good Grips 4-inch Pizza Wheel for Non-Stick Pans

The kids love it when we make homemade pizzas. They love picking out their own toppings and watching as the final product comes out of the oven. We make them often but I have ruined a couple of expensive non-stick pizza pans by using a steel pizza wheel/cutter. Thankfully, I lost my pizza cutter somehow, somewhere and ended up buying the OXO Good Grips 4-inch Pizza Wheel for Non-Stick Pans. It was $12.99 but well worth it, if it meant that I wouldn't ruin any more of my good non-stick pizza pans. Being plastic and not steel made me wonder if it would be sharp enough to cut all the way through the pizza but it is plenty sharp enough and works great.

There is a thumb guard and it has a soft grip handle that makes cutting more comfortable. The cheese doesn't stick to the wheel as it did with my steel one so clean up is a snap. I can either hand wash it or I can throw it in the dishwasher. I really love that this pizza wheel doesn't ruin my non-stick pans and that it is safer since I have children around. You can purchase this gadget online or in most retail stores.

OXO is a name brand that I trust. The products are durable, easy and comfortable to use and dishwasher safe. According to the OXO website, they guarantee everything they make so if for any reason you are not satisfied with an OXO product; return it for replacement or refund. Can't really ask for much more than that!
