puritans pride Hydrolyzed Collagen

puritans pride Hydrolyzed Collagen
health conscious, Practical, diabetic, watching my weight

NOV

2009

Puritan's Pride Hydrolyzed Collagen was a shot in the arm for me.  About six months ago, I was needingsomethingto supplement my Glucosamine Chondroitin to help with knee pain.  I was readingon the internet that collagen might help.   I decided to give it a try.  Surprise, it did help and I got an added benefit.

Losing weight is almost impossible for me and I actually cringe to see the hanging skin that doesn't go away.   I had lost over 3 years 50 pounds, but not really any clothing sizes.  Imaginemy surprize that after 2 months my clothes seem to hang.  I hadn't lost any more weight, but...

Phillips Milk of Magnesia antacid

Phillips Milk of Magnesia antacid
getting a flu shot, seasonally sick, value conscious, listening to country, listening to blues

NOV

2009

As an occasional heartburn sufferer ( mostly after eating spicy foods or overindulging ) , I do no often buy antacids .

However, I recently found myself suffering from a bout of indigestion and needed some fast relief in order to go to work in about 6 hours without pain.

I went to a local drugstore and was overwhelmed with all the choices out there . I am not one to take a lot of medicines , even over the counter ones, without trying natural remedies first , but those had failed . I needed something a little more heavy duty .

I chose the Phillips brand Milk of Magnesia because it has been around...

Willing to pay for quality, busy mom, an alergy sufferer, not rich, walking and running, Homeowner, Daily exerciser, value conscious

NOV

Let me first start off saying that his product is amazing!  I am 40 years old and this is the first product that actually works and keeps on working.  It will always be in my medicine cabinet.

However, I did not react well from this product.  I found it to be a little mind boggling.  I felt like I was walking in a cloud and it was nearly impossible to focus.  This is why I believe you need to take it for the first time from the comfort of your own home to see how you react.

I found an amazing middle ground though and it saves me money.  I cut the pills in half and only take a half a day. ...

Pepto Bismol Cherry Chewable Tablets

Pepto Bismol Cherry Chewable Tablets
not rich, a woman, love to travel

NOV

2009
The Pepto Bismol cherry flavored chewable tablets are yummy for the tummy. I have always known that Pepto Bismol is reliable and I have always trusted my tummy to the product. But, now that Pepto comes in chewable form, I buy it whenever I have stomach problems and am able to carry them around especially because I travel a lot and don't need to worry about the liquid not being in a 3 oz. size bottle or about the bottle spilling in the luggage. I especially enjoy the flavor. The regular liquid form always tasted chalky to me, so when I started hearing that it came in tablets, I bought them the next... review »

Tylenol PM Rapid Release Gels
Willing to pay for quality, fun loving

NOV

2009

I have used tylenol pm rapid release gels occasionally. I am the type of person who doesn't like to use medication on a daily basis. I only use it when i have a headache and can't go to sleep. Just to make sure i put this in here when it says don't operate heavy machinary for at least eight hours they mean it. I still feel a little woozy nine hours later. Tylenol pm rapid release gels work really fast. I can take one and within twenty minutes I am out for nine hours and don't remember a thing. One night my husband got sick and tried to wake me up so I could help him. He said i did not even stir....

Mucinex Expectorant

Mucinex Expectorant
Willing to pay for quality, an alergy sufferer, seasonally sick

NOV

2009

Mucinex is a great product. My nurse practitioner even recommended it before trying an antibiotic and I couldn't believe it but she was right!  When you are congested in the head, nasal passages, or chest, the guasafin (the active ingredient) will get it out.  Take this at the onset of congestion--and take some tylenol or ib profin to minimize swelling of the nasal passages, which sometimes is why you can't get it out!

However, be forewarned that this does affect blood sugar, so if you are diabetic, consult your doctor before use.  If you're not diabetic, you will want to eat a little more than...

Ocean nasal spray

Ocean nasal spray
getting a flu shot, seasonally sick, listening to country, value conscious, a PC user

NOV
9
2009

having suffered with seasonal allergies and a chronically stuffed nose for most of my life , I have tried numerous products in an effort to clear my nose and breathe easier .

Many nasal sprays have a "rebound effect" of used too often and prescription nasal sprays often contain steroid which have negative side effects that negates the benefits , in my opinion,

After discovering Ocean nasal spray, I find that this is the most natural ,safest form of relief for me for a stuffed up nose . Basically , you could make this yourself using salt and purified water because it is a saline based nasal spray....

VICKS DAYQUIL

VICKS DAYQUIL
busy mom

NOV
9
2009

The Vicks Dayquil product is adsolutely awesome. I have had to take over-the-counter medicine off and on for the last two weeks. This seems to be the only cold medicine to help any at all. I take 2 gel caps about every 8 hours or so and it has made a world of a difference. I tried several others and none of them have worked as well as the Vicks Dayquil. A big thanks for the makers of this product. I work with kids and can not afford to miss a day just b/c of some crazy cold. Vicks is wonderful.

mucinex Mucinex

mucinex Mucinex
getting a flu shot, seasonally sick, somewhat tech savvy, a PC user, value conscious

NOV

2009

I have used Mucinex for quite awhile ( before it was available over the counter) ,  with amazing results.

The active ingredient in Mucinex is guafinisen which is an expectorant for mucus relief . It really works great as a decongestant and thins the mucus secretions and helps " bring up" the mucus from your lungs and nasal passages .

There are generic brands of this drug out there which are equally effective, but be careful of the doses. I believe the Mucinex is 400mg of guaf per tablet and the generics, which are much cheaper,  may only have 100 or 200mg per tablet . You would need 2-4 tablets...

Caladryl Clear Lotion, 6-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 3)

Caladryl Clear Lotion, 6-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 3)
into trying new things, loving this product, sensitive skin

NOV

2009

I use Caladryl Clear Lotion all the time. It works wonders for poison ivy, and insect bites, but I actually use it for razor burn, after I shave my legs or bikini area, I rub this on, let it dry and I have no problems throughout the day. It also keeps me from getting ingrown hairs and boils, due to scratching and festering up hairs) I have tried bikinizone, neutrogena, skin sensitive shave gel and other creams for razor burn, but nothing would work like this does. Caladryl Clear Lotion makes the itch and the redness go away in about 5-10 minutes. I would recommend this to anybody. This is a very...

L Lysine L Lysine

L Lysine L Lysine
a busy person

NOV
9
2009

I have been getting cold sores since I can remember (age 5, maybe).  They come about once evey six months or, if I'm lucky, one a year due to stress. L Lysine, the over the counter supplement, has made a huge difference in my once 6-12 day hiatus from the world due to my cold sores.  My normal 2 weeks effected by cold sores was about cut in half from taking it. The recomended dosage when you have an outbreak is 3000-9000mg. It works for other strains of Herpes Simplex (the virus that causes ALL cold sores, kanker sores and Shingles) also.  The pills are hard to swallow and I would recomend taking...

Nature's Bounty Melatonin

Nature's Bounty Melatonin
Willing to pay for quality, never sick

NOV

2009

I am a total insomniac and have been for years. I do not want to take prescription drugs that are, for the most part, addictive. I learned about Melatonin years ago from a good friend to whom I am eternally grateful.

Nature's Bounty Melatonin was recommended by a nutritionist to my good friend in conjunction with other food supplements as a night time sleep aid.Nature's Bounty Melatonin is a the answer to my sleepless nights.

Nature's Bounty Melatonin is a quality product that accomplishes what other over the counter products have not. If I take Nature's Bounty Melatonin before midnight, I...

MCNEIL-PPC, INC. Zyrtec Allergy Medication

MCNEIL-PPC, INC. Zyrtec Allergy Medication
Willing to pay for quality, an alergy sufferer

NOV

2009

Less than twelve hours after I had adopted my new kitten I was wheezing and my eyes were itchy and bloodshot. I called my doctor that day for an appointment to get some relief from this terrible allergic reaction. Her first suggestion was to get rid of the kitten. I explained that was not an option at this point and I really wanted to try some allery medications. She prescribed one. This relieved the itchy eyes, but not the wheezing. A second prescription relieved the wheezing, but not the itchy eyes. A third prescription relieved both, but only last about six weeks. Tired of paying for expensive...
