This is a great product for those who like apple cider, hot chocolate, and hot tea. We do not have room for a microwave, and heating water on the stove can be somewhat time consuming. This machine does exactly what it claims. It heats water to boiling--and FAST! Everyone in our family loves to drink hot tea--this makes two cups at a time which I really like. My old one recently broke after many, many years of use. I ended up purchasing another one online the next day. I really rely on this product. I also use it for Jello and broth. Highly recommend!!

Pour in a cup or mug of water. About 50 seconds later it is heated to the perfect temperature and ready to make tea or hot chocolate. This is extremely convenient and saves a lot of time in the kitchen. I have had this for years and am very happy with it.

A long time ago I remember my Mother having a Sunbeam Hot Shot in her kitchen. She was a tea fanatic and owned multiple tea pots, kettles and the hot shot. I remember she used it when she was in a hurry and it took almost no time to have hot, boiling water. So, when I was walking through a store around Christmas time I saw the Hot Shot on the shelf and had to buy one. I brought it home and used it right way, for old times sake. I immediately fell in love with it again. The design is similar to the old style, but of course has been updated. All you have to do is plug it in, pour water into the top reservoir, press the start button and when it's done (in literally a minute or two), you can dispense boiling water into your mug. I use it for tea and hot chocolate, since i'm not a coffee drinker. I loved it so much that I went back to the store and bought a second one for my office at work. Now I can have my own cup of tea in just minutes whenever I want it. This is a great product!

I have been contemplating purchasing a coffee press or a hot water kettle for a very long time. Neither me nor my husband are much of a coffee drinker but every once in a while we like a good cup of tea. It has been a pain to get a good cup since we discontinued using a microwave. This inexpensive unit plugs in to a standard outlet. Put a cup of tap water into the top. Push the button and it less than a minute the water heats up to close to boiling hot. Push the lever on the front and it pours right into your cup. Easy peasy.

I drink hot tea just about every single morning until mid summer when it is already in the mid to upper 90's outside. I am usually half awake as I stand there urging the tea kettle to hurry up, but recently my husband took pity on me and purchased the Oster hot shot water dispenser so there is no need for me to wait for my hot water! It is really great for not just me, but for anyone wanting hot chocolate, hot water for their oatmeal, or instant coffee. I have neighbors that visit constantly and we both drink barrells of tea daily, so now it is a snap to be able to have a cup! It is the perfect size for me, because I do not like having appliances out on the counter top if they are bulky and this one certainly is not!

I purchased this so my son could make oatmeal in seconds. I do not have to worry about him boiling water on the stove. This products works great. It boils water in seconds. It's very compact and fits right on our counter. I would definitely recommend this if you're a tea/hot chocolate drinker.

I am a coffee and tea addict and drink many cups a day. When I headed off to college, I wanted some way to boil water in my dorm. The Hot Shot is the best way I've ever found. It's faster than a microwave or electric kettle and it dispenses easily right into your cup. You put the water in a compartment in the top, press the power button, and, in less than a minute, your water is heated to boiling. You set a cup below it on the built-in platform that has a circle where the water will come out, so you line your cup up and you're ready to go with no worries about spilling. The disadvantages (from my viewpoint) don't cast any shadow on the product at all. There's no off switch, which means if you want your water not quite boiling, you have to wait (but it turns itself off automatically, which is safer and is fantastic). If you lift the lid right after you've boiled water, there's some possibility of a steam burn, but there is no need to open the lid right away. Overall, it's fast, easy, and really useful. It's small enough to sit on your counter but it stores easily too. Great for speed and small kitchens.

I have had a Sunbeam Hot Shot hot water dispenser of many, many years.  My mother is always on the look out for unique but functional items to purchase for us for birthday, anniversary, and Christmas gifts.  She is the one who bought my for Hot Shot for me.  It is one of the most functional piece of kitchen items I have ever had.  It heats up water instantly for coffee, hot chocolate, soup, hot cider mix, hot spiced tea, hot tea, cup of macaroni, oatmeal, or any hot cereal.  It is so easy that the kids or the elderly can manage it without my worrying about someone getting hurt.  It makes up to 12 oz. of heated water at a time.  If you need more, you can instantly heat the next cup without any wait time.  I probably use mine at least once a day year round but I use it multiple times a day in the winter or colder months because someone is always coming home wanting something warm to eat or drink.  It is so much more convenient than waiting for a kettle to heat up on the stove and less wasteful of energy.
