Okay, it sounds like a jet engine, but I love that power!

Finally, my mother's Osterizer could not be fixed. At age 55, it had to be turned over to recycle. When I tried to replace it, I found a plethora of fancy-schmancy blenders with twelve speeds, interchangable bottles, and modernistic designs. Nope.

Great for smoothies!

I am wary of buying blenders.  I've had so many that burned out after a few months, or just didn't make margaritas and smoothies the way they should.  This Oster beehive blender, on the other hand, is great.  I have had this blender for more than three years (it was a wedding present), and, despite its low price, it's held up really well, and it seems like it will keep going for a while.

I love the retro styling of this blender (it looks great on the counter) and the glass pitcher. Mostly, I love the simplicity of the simple toggle high/low switch. You really only need two speeds; I have yet...

I bought the Oster Blender because the one I had couldn't handle ice cubes.  The Oster Blender grinds ice like you would not imagine.
