Oster 5712 Electronic 2-Tier 6.1-Quart Food Steamer Review

Oster 5712 Electronic 2-tier food steamer is just superb! I never used a food steamer before and I didn't have any problem to use it rightaway after reading the manual. I prefer to do things parallely so that I can finish my cooking in less time. My Oster food steamer helps to do that. Steamer is not the option to cook faster but certainly it helps you not to stand in front of your stove to monitor. So you can practically do anything out of your kitchen while cooking in this steamer. It has alarm system to let you know when you need to put more water. It has a 95 minute timer with LCD display. You can delay your cooking upto 12 hours. You can keep warm your food while you prepare rest of your meal. It has two separate chambers and it comes with one tray where you can put your materials for juicy cooking. You can even cook soft or hard cooked eggs  using it's large bowl having egg-holders. I use my own additional container to cook two meals with gravy simultaneously, e.g I cook rice and dal (Indian lentils) which needs water in both cases together putting two containers inside two chambers. It works out perfectly. I use also container to steam vegetables to use the water again for making that dish finally. In this case you need to put little water.

Oster 5712 produces steam very fast. But you need to clean after every 7th cooking or so with vineager if water in your area is scale-producing. Otherwise it becomes slow in producing steam. I wish Oster is developing a better heating material to ovecome this problem. 

Oster is a superb choice who wants to save gas and time (in the sense that you are working parallely).
