I bought this about a year ago, and have not been satisfied. I really trusted the Oster name, as I have bought other Oster products and not had a problem until the blender. I didn't feel like the blades were very sharp. There have been several time that I put something in it, and it takes forever to do anything. I wanted to puree some spinach with vinegar, and we ended up having to stop it every few seconds and push the spinach further down and mix it up. We bought this as a temporary replacement until my wife could decide on whether she would like a food processor, juicer..etc.
I should have known that might take a while and spent a little more money on our temp blender. This blender does not blend uniformly, refuses to start up at times and is downright scary. Even when you hold it down it moves sideways...all over the place!!!
On a positive note, it comes apart rather easily for cleaning and is plastic instead of glass so it doesn't weigh as much as our old one. I've dropped it, personally, several times and gave thanks that it wasn't made...

So far I haven't had any problems with this blender. It seems to stir and chop up things pretty well.
