Weed be gone

4

One of the fastest and easiest weed killing products I have used that actually work. Since the regulations changed in Ontario we can no longer buy or use the products that use to be so good like Miracle Grows weed and feed of years past. Now this is my go to product as a weed killer and not a grass killer. I am a nickel pincher (we don't have the penny any more in Canada) and this product is in the moderate price rage but is well worth the nickels it costs. I would have given this product a 10 for overall rating if it had the capability to kill the clovers in the grass as well, but since it does not and I have had to painstakingly removed them one by one on a residential lot that is 65' X 150' this girl is not prepared to do better than and eight on this rating. If you are looking for a fast easy way to get rid of the weeds in you lawn this does the work but you will still have to re-apply as future weeds grow unless you can do a preventive weed and feed fertilizer at the beginning of the next spring season.

This product worked as advertised. No problems at all. I only had to use this once, the sun did the rest as all of the weeds in my lawn except crabgrass browned out and died. The product was so effective that the lawn service that came to mow wanted the brand name of the product used so he could use it.

Patience, Patience...the Weeds Will Disappear...I Promise!

Ready to use spray weed killers like Ortho Weed- B- Gone are among the easiest to use of all weed killing products and for someone like me (who hates yard work), ease of use ranks high on my list of requirements and it is one of the main reasons I use this product. There is no need to pull out a manual spreader like you have to do with dry weed killer and there is no need to dilute or mix anything. All you do is attach one end of a garden hose, turn the knob to open the sprayer, turn on the water supply, and let the spraying begin. As easy as this process is, it isn't the most effective at killing weeds. When I use Ortho Weed- B- Gone, the first thing that disappears from my yard is clovers and they leave the scene on the second day. But other weeds take longer and this can frustrate consumers who take Ortho's "Results in 24 Hours" claim literally. Ortho isn't saying that your yard will be weed- free in 24 hours; it is only saying that some weeds will be gone in 24 hours.  Ortho does eventually come through, but one has to be patient and wait several days before passing judgment. One thing that annoys me with this and other ready to use weed killing sprays is the low pressure delivery of the product from the end of the sprayer. Unless your garden hose has exceptional water pressure, the liquid will come out the end of the sprayer at a very slow pace. This means it will take a long time to cover the lawn and it will take a good deal of walking around. I wish they would perfect this process by offering a way to increase pressure so that the spray would shoot further than it does. It would really save a lot of time when using ready to use spray weed killers. Also, beware of the condition of your garden hose before you purchase a product like this. If it is bent in any way on the tip that inserts into the spray handle, you may be unable to twist the garden hose and make it fit. Your hose has to be in good, working condition on the metal ends or else you won't be able to screw it into the sprayer. I don't have any particular loyalty when it comes to liquid weed killer like Ortho Weed- B- Gone. I tend to select whatever product offers the best price and/or claims to kill the largest number of weed types. Ortho Weed- B- Gone is a decent product for weed elimination; is offered at a fair price; and kills a good number of weeds. If you can get past the speed issue, you will see that it does do what it claims. It does eliminate a large number of weeds and it kills them, roots and all, so that the same weed cannot grow back. It's a good product overall but it is no substitute for some of the better products that kill most weeds in less than half the time.

Let's Kill Some Crabgrass

4

Crabgrass is one of the toughest weeds found in the average lawn and it often takes additional effort to eliminate. All- purpose weed killer is fine for wiping out most every other weed but crabgrass needs a special type of chemical to kill it. Ortho Weed- B- Gone Crabgrass Killer has the ingredients necessary to wipe out crabgrass and a few other weeds, too, like foxtail, nutgrass, barnyardgrass, dallisgrass, and other grassy weeds. The one annoyance with Ortho Crabgrass Concentrate is the fact that it isn't ready to use. It is sold in concentrate form and that means it needs to be used along with a tank sprayer or a similar device to make sure the concentrate is diluted at the right level. This makes Ortho Crabgrass Concentrate a little less convenient to use than other crabgrass killer, but one advantage is that the concentrate will last longer. The ready- to- use sprays can sometimes be used up completely with a single trip around the yard. On the other hand, a single pint bottle of this concentrate will last for several treatments. A single bottle can cover 2,100 square feet of space. Once the liquid is applied to the lawn, it's only a matter of time before it goes to work and kills the weeds. Patience plays an important part in the process, because it can take many days before the crabgrass is killed. According to the manufacturer, it takes between 5 and 7 days for the product to kill these weeds. From my experience, the killing doesn't take place until the end of this range and slightly beyond. I assume it takes longer because crabgrass is more difficult to kill, and this doesn't surprise me. I have more difficulty with crabgrass than any other weed and I am willing to wait a little longer than usual to get rid of these pesky weeds. I didn't notice much change in five days, but once the calendar showed it was eight days since I used Ortho Crabgrass Concentrate, I noticed the crabgrass was shriveling up. Overall, Ortho Weed- B- Gone Crabgrass killer is an effective means to control crabgrass and it is a product I will continue to use in the future. It does take longer to work than other weed killers, but this is common with crabgrass and it shouldn't be cause for alarm. It helps me control the crabgrass in my lawn in only one application and while it is somewhat of a pain to have to purchase a separate spreader to apply the liquid, it is worth it in the long run because the liquid is concentrated and will last a long time. It's a good product from Ortho that eliminates the problem of crabgrass in reasonable time.

Ortho weed B gone

5

Ortho weed B Gone is great.I have used it for several things around in my yard as far as the weeds in the driveway cracks to my flower beds and planters.I love the way that it kills the weed in less than 24 hours and the clean up afterwards is awesome.I have also found that it is safe to my annuals and perrenials as well I to date have never gotten a sick plant or lost one from spraying weed b gone.I also find that the weeds once treated tend to not come back in the same location twice. The trigger spray bottle is another added feature that I love as well for it it easy to use and not to heavy to handle and control where you are trying to spray at.I will certainly continue to use Ortho for as long as I can continue to purchase it.

My neighbors have pine trees along the fence line and i have spent many years cutting out saplings. I used Weed-B-Gone........on weeds. Then I thought I'd try it on the cut roots. It works fantastic! Any new sprouts I see, I grab my Weed-B-Gone sprayer and they are no more. It's so easy to use. The nozzle adjusts for either a stream or a wide spray. A big thumbs-up for this product!

Ortho Weed-B-Gone-Good Bye Weeds!!!!

5

Ortho Weed-B-Gone Weed KIller is amazing. I was expecting and hoping for a miracle and I got fantastic results. First, I did some research online to try to find out what type of new weeds and my regular weeds are in my yard and gardens. Ortho's website has a weed identifier guide to help you with just this problem also in assistance on what is the best products for each type of problem. I also wanted tom hear it for myself, so I went down to my local Garden Center and asked different people their advice. Ortho Weed-Gone was the number one choice by all. I found it at a very comparable and good price and took it home to try it out. I did a test area on some different types of weeds and "the one problem new weed." Spray and leave it alone. Starts working withing 24 hours. A little onlger on some of the bigger and more stubborn but it did KILL them all. ALL of the weeds are gone. No regrowth and it has been over a month and a half. It did not harm or kill any of my grass at all. Others that I have tried did that and their bottles said otherwise. So the fact I can spray this in the grass is great too. I went back and decided to purchase the concentrate in the bigger bottle. That way I can mix it in my sprayer as I need it. It will last me a while. It comes in different sizes and containers. It is powerful, highly effective and easy to use. The price is very low. Now that Summer is coming to a close I have even found it on sale and clearance. I have stocked up for next year. I highly recommend this product for your yard, grass and gardens. I have beautiful grass and gardens now, thank you Ortho! Overall excellent product!

Ortho Grass and Weed Killer

5

Ortho Grass and Weed Killer is another great product I like to keep around. Just apply it as directed, and in no time unwanted weeds and grass disappear. You can purchase this product pre-mixed, or in concentrated form, where you will mix it yourself. I prefer the concentrated form, since I am very concious of saving money. Ortho Grass and Weed Killer is cheaper than Roundup, and in my opinion, lasts just as long or longer, depending on which product you're looking at. I can't understand why some people insist on Roundup at a greater price when this works just as well. They must have money to throw away. I don't! I am a penny pincher of sorts, value concious. I will pay more for something if I can prove to myself that it is a better quality. But, in my opinion, Ortho Grass and Weed Killer is just as good as the higher priced brand. So, why would I not buy it? Why spend more when you don't have to?

Choke the Life Out of Crabgrass, One Weed at a Time

3

Ortho Weed- B- Gone Crabgrass Killer in ready- to- use spray form is a convenient way to eliminate crabgrass in select spots around your yard. There is no pre- mixing necessary with this product and no need to attach to a garden hose. You just twist the tip to open, aim at the crabgrass, and fire away. I like using the ready to use version of Ortho Crabgrass killer around my shrubs and other plants. Since these weeds are close to other vegetation, I like the control that the ready to use product gives me. I don't need to worry that the chemicals might get on other plants. I can keep the sprayer aimed right at the weed and better control where the liquid flows. Ortho claims this product is safe for lawns, but it doesn't say anything about other plants. Rather than take a chance with my sprayer/garden hose combo, I choose instead to use the ready to use product. How effective is this product? Well, the manufacturer claims that weeds should start to die in five to seven days. I find that it usually takes longer than this. The other Ortho crabgrass killer (concentrate form) also takes longer. But there is one key difference: With the concentrate, the crabgrass will shrivel up and die shortly after one week. With the ready- to- use, you often need to apply a second coating to choke the life completely out of the crabgrass. Ordinarily, I would rate a product like this as below average and not recommend since it sometimes requires a second treatment. But what I have found is that the success rate can be increased if the trigger sprayer is used right the first time. For starters, you need to use the coarse spray because it sprays wide and therefore is more likely to coat the weed. You need to spray starting at the center of the weed but just a quick spray in the middle isn't good enough. It takes about three tugs on the trigger to coat the crabgrass completely (sometimes more, if the weed is very large). As long as you make sure to coat the weed thoroughly, you can eliminate the need for second treatments.  Crabgrass killer needs to be approached with caution. This product kills grasses and even though the manufacturer guarantees it won't kill your lawn, there is a specific list of grasses that you cannot use this product near. My feelings on crabgrass killer are even more cautious: I avoid allowing the mist from this bottle to touch any grass or plant- even those that the manufacturer claims are safe. Through experience, I have seen that crabgrass killer will leave its mark on other grasses. It won't wipe out your lawn, no. But it will turn some of the grass yellow and create a temporary sore spot that will need time to heal. Overall, Ortho Crabgrass Killer in ready to use form is a convenient way to kill crabgrass. There will be times when you have to spray the crabgrass a second time and if you have crabgrass in abundance, you will run through bottles quickly. However, I still like this product for its convenience and even though it isn't the perfect solution to the problem, it is still good for killing crabgrass one piece at a time. It makes a good companion to purchase along with crabgrass killer concentrate. Between the two of them, you should have little trouble controlling the outbreak of crabgrass.
