I bought this lotion for the first time when I was 19 years old and on acutane to clear up my acne. What they don't tell you about acutane is that it drys your skin very badly while you are taking the medication to the point that any wind exposure makes your face very chapped. I was desperate to try something that would prevent this. I really didn't want to pay the expensive price tag for the Dr. Weils line, but I did. It did prevent my face from chapping and appearing red. It worked well, but the cleanser never really made my face feel clean, I didn't like that it didn't lather. The serum and lotion is a miracle worker though. I continued using it even after I had long been off the medication. It makes any redness or eczema disapear. It also really has seemed to slow down the anti-aging process for me. You don't really need to use a lot to make the redness disappear. I bought the big bottle quite a while ago and it is not empty yet. One pump is all you need, if that.

I hate spending money on things that I feel I could get a lot cheaper by buying at a drugstore, using a coupon, etc.  I was so hesitant to buy anything from Origins, but my sister in law arranged for me to have a consultation at the Origins counter, hoping they could help with my VERY red undertones that made almost every makeup look orange on my skin!  They were successful!  I use this serum every time I wash my face, followed by the mega mushroom lotion, and it leaves me feeling totally moisturized but not at all greasy.  I feel like it is a necessary part of the process now, because if I run out and just use the lotion, my skin does not feel the same, and several weeks without this and my face begins to turn red again!  It has calmed my skin and made it smoother as well.  I also had issues with some serums and moisturizers being too greasy and breaking me out, but this one does not do that.  The price is more than I prefer to pay, but a tiny bit does the job and a small bottle lasts me awhile, so if I keep getting it as Christmas and Birthday gifts, I'll be fine!

I purchased this product; Dr. Weil Plantidote Mega Mushroom Treatment Lotion, after using most of the other Mega Mushroom products and having food results. This is basically a toner, even though it's called lotion. After cleansing your skin, you squirt some of this on a cotton ball (or whatever you'd use) and swipe it around your face. It's supposed to help skin's defenses to protect itself, but all it did was make the redness in my cheeks increase - which I thought it was supposed to tone it down. I tried it a couple times, but just found it to be too much for my skin. Maybe it was the action of swiping a cotton ball on my skin that caused it, but overall I just didn't see any beneft from this particular product, and have returned it. The rest of the products are great though!
