Generally I buy quality items and keep them forever. In cases where I need little trinkets like party decorations and favors or items for party gift bags, I turn to Oriental Trading Company.

I did not have a need for little favors, until I had kids. Kids love little playthings that don't have to be treated carefully. I can pay a few cents for Halloween vampire teeth, and that's great. The kids think it's cool to have fangs. They enjoy them for a few days or weeks.

Right now, I'm planning a luau for my son who is graduating from high school. Oriental Trading Company just happens to be featuring luau items. Hum. Maybe it's not such a unique idea. That's OK though. They have cool supplies and things that the kids (of all ages) will enjoy at the party. I'm ordering leis and water squirters and umbrellas to put in the punch cups. Just little things that will give the party a festive air.

It's amazing how many trinkets they have at Oriental Trading Company. I can put in almost any search word and get some listings.

The little things at Oriental Trading Company are not high quality - or most aren't. If you want favors that folks will keep forever, you'll pay much more. If you want some fun props for parties or for groups on a budget, then this place is super. For a few dollars, you can buy a lot of stuff that will be fun and will make kids (and adults) smile.

Hi LIsa - Tks for the link. I got some great ideas from your article. I'll bet the guys would like a Slip n Slide. Gold Fish crackers will be super easy to have out for snaking.

(-: I have a younger son too, so the nest won't be empty. I'm sure going to miss the older one though.

You are so right here. OT is great for bulk trinkets and crafts.

I love OT, and if you need any ideas I actually wrote an article on how to throw a luau party complete with recipes and game ideas. It can be found at http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/637997/the_perfect_hawaiian_luau_party_for.html Mine was for girls, but some great ideas for the guys too.

Congratulations on your son's graduation! Is there an empty nest syndrome coming one? :) Nice job!

This is a great resource for party trinkets. I've used them several times. :)
