Oreck XL —

The first Oreck XL I got, overheated within 3-6 months of use. My local dealer refused to give me a refund, but did replace it with a new unit. Same problems.....not very efficient at picking up cat or human hair, constant faint rubber burning smell. Have not used it in three years. Was not informed when I bought the Oreck that it would need tune ups every three months at a cost of $25 each time to keep it running. Have never heard of vacuum cleaner tune ups so often. The Oreck XL is just not a very powerful vacuum. Dont bother to waste your money on this lemon.
