Oreck XL Ultra Vacuum —
I got my Oreck a couple of years ago for Christmas after my husband asked me what I REALLY wanted. Just call me practical, OK? It was one of the most useful presents I have ever gotten. A friend had one and she always raved about it. I considered a Dyson, but thought it was bulky and heavy. My Oreck is light and I love the mini vac for the furniture and stairs. Yes, it would be more convenient if a hose would come off the big vac for such purposes so I could do floors, stairs, furniture at the same time, without switching, but it's a small inconvenience. The mini vac fits greatly in our travel trailer and does a great job of the "hall." Our local Oreck dealer (McDonough, GA) is great to work with and quickly returns my Oreck after its tuneups. I wish I had not wasted money a couple of years ago on my heavy, inefficient bagless Dirt Devil.
