This is our second Oreck vacuum; the first one gave up the ghost after many years of faithful service. It is a quality machine that does an above-average job of vacuuming your floors and rugs and carpets. It is light and easy to use. It is, in fact, the best vacuum we have ever bought. For best results, give your vacuum some care: any scratches or marks on the plastic case can be removed by a light run with Brasso! (believe it or not, it will make it look like new). The biggest thing is to CHANGE THE BAG as often as it is needed. We have four cats in this house and I watch the bag carefully. You won't get the performance you want if you don't have a clean and empty bag. Note that Oreck is giving a 5- year service agreement in some cases. You can get a FREE tune-up every year from your local Oreck dealer/vacuum service center. I think this is invaluable, you can head off trouble before it gets out of hand. Regarding the replacement bags, I know Oreck sells quality products but we have used the generic bags for our machine and did not notice any difference. We highly recommend Oreck. The only complaint is that, like so many other retailers, especially mattress manufacturers!, they have so many models and colors and so forth that it makes it very difficult to compare prices. I don't like that tactic and wish they wouldn't use it.

This vacuum is great for tile and carpet. I love how well it sucks up everything. I have a little toddler who is always spilling food off his high chair and everynight when I go over it with the vacuum it gets everything even the stickier stuff. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because it really is just a vacuum. No bells and whistles but gets the job done.

**Oreck XL Classic Power Team U4150 Vacuum** **Great Vacuum Cleaner.  We've had this vacuum cleaner for about three years and have not had any problems with it - Love it! This vacuum cleanner is a bit costly, but works great and is very light.  It does a good job sucking the dirt.  We have two dogs and we are constantly vacuuming**.

I have bought many vacuums over the years and have never been happy.  I finally invested more money,which I should have done initially, and bought the Oreck XL.  It doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but it has power and it does what it is supposed to do - suck!  :-)  Best investment.

I am 64 so I have had many sweepers.  In 1998 I bought my first Oreck.  I was in heaven.  It had a large capacity dirt bag and really did a great job at picking up anything.  The bag is really easy to change and there is a place to put a fragrance pad with it. It was so lightweight that it took little effort to use it.  Well, Oreck came out with new models so I looked at them.  Nothing was wrong with the one I already had but I looked anyway.  I decided to purchase the new Oreck XL. I moved the older one to the recreation room. The Oreck XL is amazing, it almost does the vacuuming itself.  It's not self propelled but on carpet it seems to pull itself along.  It does a superb cleaning job.  It has a built in HEPA filter which helps to cut down on germs as small as .003 microns. The bag is even easier to change as the old one.  It has a nice headlight so you can see even tiny things on the floor.  It also has 2 turbo rotating brushes and large edge brushes that really make a carpet get cleaner.  I would and have recommended Oreck to my best friend. With Oreck credit, you have 12 months to pay without interest.  You even get free gifts with purchase,   I got a hand held vacuum and a steam iron.  I have a great 10 year warranty.  All I have to do is take it    to a local service center where they clean it, replace the belts and make it like new.

We have owned our Oreck vacuum for over 5yrs.  We live in a 2 level house and recently bought a new one for the upstairs.  I would own nothing but an Oreck.  It goes above and beyond cleaning.  It does beautifully on hardwood and tile floors as it does on carpet.  Most vacuums we have owned in the past when used on the hard floor surfaces always seem to through dirt behind the vacuum, leaving you to go over and over the area till all dirt was sucked up.  With the Oreck it is one stroke and dirt is gone.  If, you have ever used carpet deoderizers, you may find alot of the crystals and powder get left behind even after you have vacuumed more than once.  With the Oreck vacuums it sucks it up the first time no left over powder or crystals.  With the first vacuum we also recieved a new hand held canister vacuum with attachments, this too has the best suction ever.  I use both vacuums daily as we do have pets and kids.  These vaccums have saved us lots of money on the carpet throughout the house.  We recently have also bought the Oreck carpet shampooer.  We have them all serviced regularly and love the customer service we have recieved for all techs and stores.  I trust no other brand but Oreck for our home, as they stand behind their product 100%.
