I no longer use an Oral-b electric toothbrush anymore because I switched to Philips Sonicare. I switched because the nickel cadmium battery in the oral-b was only getting me two days of usage max before I would have to recharge the battery. That is the only problem I had with the oral-b electric toothbrush. I think is would be worth it to get an electric toothbrush that has a lithium-ion battery inside instead of nickel-cadium battery. Ni-cad batteries have a memory effect that will shorten the battery's usefulness if you do not fully drain the battery before charging it fully. With lithium batteries, you do not have to worry about the memory effect. Plus, lithium-ion batteries have better capacity, I think.

This Oral-b electric toothbrush has bristles that twists back-and-forth clockwise and counter-clockwise many times per minute. I forget how many times it does that, but it does it enough to brush away foreign objects from your teeth. In comparison to the sonic vibrations of a Philips Sonicare, I cannot say which does a better job of keeping my mouth clean from plaque and cavities. I think the mere brushing with toothpaste will keep your mouth clean, along with flossing. The thing that differentiates this Oral-b toothbrush from the Philips Sonicare is the battery life. I would skip this Oral-b electric toothbrush if you want an electric toothbrush that you only want to recharge once a week. If don't mind charging an electric toothbrush two or three times a week, then this Oral-b toothbrush will work for you.

I received this toothbrush as a gift this past Christmas (December, 2010). I've been using electronic toothbrushes for years, but was excited go get this one as it cost more than I would typically spend on a toothbrush when purchasing one for myself. The power this brush produces is far better than the colgate brush I was using before. However, the head it much smaller than I am used to and I keep jabbing myself in the gums with the brush head due to the small size. Also, the brush that it comes with cannot be "soft" like I am used too. It's really rough and makes my gums bleed, a lot. I do think I will just have to adjust to using this brush (more power, smaller head) and I do feel that my teeth are throughly cleaned after using it. The brush head replacements are more expensive than I am used to (clearly the price was going to be more, since the entire toothbrush was more money than I am used too). Overall, it's pretty good. I personally just need to get used to using it.

The AdvancePower Toothbrush is Definitely Powerful

Comments about Oral-B AdvancePower Toothbrush D9513:

For me, an electric toothbrush is a must. I was skeptical to purchase this one, as I wasn't a fan of a wall recharger. I was more of a classic battery girl. The cord is messy and annoying, but the toothbrush does its job. The amount of plaque buildup on my teeth that I feel is less. My gums feel healthier and stronger. Although the head of the toothbrush is very small, it helps me move through my mouth with ease and I've come to prefer a smaller rotating head. The shaft of the item does bulk up with toothpaste leftovers from your mouth if you do not keep it clean, so stay sanitary and take care of it. The head lasted me for about 4 months before I needed to replace it with a new one.

Love my Braun Power Toothbrush

By

from Harrisburg, PA

Comments about Oral-B AdvancePower Toothbrush D9513:

I could not have asked for a better result than what I got from my Braun Power Toothbrush.  After using it for a while, I went to the dentist and was asked what it was that I was doing differently.  I told him that the only thing that I was doing differently was using my Braun toothbrush.  I had previously had stains on some of my molar teeth that they were unable to get out for me.  I also had a problem with plague when I would go for my checkups sometimes to the point that they would have to make two separate appointments in order to properly clean my teeth.  But after using my Braun Power Toothbrush, I got glowing reviews from my hygienist as well as from the dentist and they couldn't believe the difference that it had made in my checkup.  Not to mention, that my cleaning went very quickly and I couldn't believe the short time that they had to spend on my teeth.  I would highly recommend using this toothbrush especially if you are having problems with your teeth.  I am sure that if I had had softer teeth, I would have had many more problems with my teeth but am fortunate enough to have good teeth.  All the same though, this product made an incredible difference in my checkups and I would never consider going back to using a regular toothbrush.  I wouldn't leave home without it!!!

I LOVE the Braun Advanced Power electric toothbrush

By

from Winamac, IN

Comments about Oral-B AdvancePower Toothbrush D9513:

The best visit to my dentist was  the day that my hygienist's told me about Braun Advanced  Power electric toothbrush.  I was over due for my teeth-cleaning so the tarter was more set than ordinarily.  She recommend this affordable electric toothbrush because it helps me to apply a constant pressure without it being too severe.  The Braun electric toothbrush allows me to have a really super smooth clean mouth, just like the dentist cleaning does for me.  It takes only a dab of toothpaste on the small, round, replaceable head.  Because of the size of the brush it allows you to clean each tooth individually, both front & back of the tooth.  Another great feature of the Braun Advanced Power electric toothbrush is that it has an automatic timer that lets you know you have been cleaning your teeth for two minutes by changing the intensity of the brushing.  I have taken my Braun Advanced Power electric toothbrush on vacation for  a week & it held it's charge for the same brushing experience on each day of my trip.  I would highly recommend this toothbrush to anyone.

Makes My Teeth Feel Squeaky Clean!

By

from Asbury Park, NJ

Comments about Oral-B AdvancePower Toothbrush D9513:

**I love my Oral-B Advance Power Electric Toothbrush. When I bought it I wasn't sure how well it would work, it's one of the least expensive electric brushes on the market and I was afraid it would be cheap and ineffective. I was pleasantly surprised. Both me and my husband use it and we were both amazed at how clean it makes our teeth feel. The toothbrush is simple to use with the on/off button right on the front. I also like that it doesn't have a lot of ridges and small detail, making it super easy to clean, it doesn't get all gunky. When using a manual brush I always felt a little unsure of whether I was really getting to all my teeth for the right amount of time. With this Oral-B brush it's effortless. The brush and charger are compact and don't take up a lot of space on my counter, which is important because we don't have a large bathroom. The cord is long enough to reach the outlet but it's not so long that it curls up and become cumbersome. **

Oral_B tooth brush

By

from Crooksville, OH

Comments about Oral-B AdvancePower Toothbrush D9513:

My Oral-B tooth brush is probably the first thing I would want to never be without. In fifteen years there has only been one replacement. This is a life saver. You know how we are supposed to brush so many seconds or minutes  with a manual well now I can just relax and enjoy knowing the tooth brush is doing the work . It has a timer on it so you don't have to count. It is completely washable and never shorts out or stops working..It is small enough to fit on my sink, the color is pleasing, the cord is the right length , it doesn't twist or curl up..It is just a keeper. When my granddaughter was ten years old (11 years ago) she noticed mine and wanted to use it. Well another good feature it came with two heads and little colored rings to enable you to tell whose brush it was on the stand. She saved her birthday money to but one for herself. This tooth brush makes your teeth feel like you have just left the dentist office.I would highly recommend this to anyone. This was an excellent buy..

Great checkup! Oral B makes a great electric toothbrush.

By

from Santa Rosa, CA

Comments about Oral-B AdvancePower Toothbrush D9513:

With it's sleek style, light weight, and comfortable handle, this toothbrush makes taking care of your teeth and gums easier than using the traditional toothbrush.  The speed of the head movement is nicely calibrated to reduce the 'tickling' feeling from the vibrations of other brushes.  The 1-minute signal is easy to feel and encourages adeequate time brushing.  It is easily rinsed clean after use, and the clear cap keeps the bristles clean until you are ready to use the device again.  Storing the toothbrush in its holder ensures a charge enough to thoroughly brush your teeth, and keeps the instrument in easy view for gentle reminders to use it. Just replace the head when you wear them out.   Would I buy another Oral-B Advance Power Electric Toothbrush?  Absolutely!

Has lasted 7 + years

By

from Tampa, FL

Comments about Oral-B AdvancePower Toothbrush D9513:

I bought this Oral B Advance Power Vitality Toothbrush back when Braun was switching over the the Oral B brand name. It was the cheapest plug-in model I could find at my local mega-mart. It worked like a charm for about 6 months, then it started going down hill...or so I thought. It wouldn't turn off when I pushed the button, and i had to keep pushing it (but the brush would still move and jerk for a little bit, or stop when I put it on the base. My boyfriend (now husband) was able to reset the button and it worked well for about 2 weeks, then went back to this state. I read other online reviews that mentioned the same problem. I figured I would have to buy another brush in the near future (of course the toothbrush was just bast the warranty date, and people reported big problems with customer service.)

Fast forward to today, six and a half years later. My husband and I now both use this brush, and it still works, to our amazement! Yes, it still has turn off problems (we just stick it on the base, it stops, and we pick it up again), but it brushes with great results. Every year I think- should I invest the money for the big pack of replacement heads from our warehouse club? I do, and haven't regretted it (yet!).

Never a dull moment

By

from Muscle Shoals, AL

Comments about Oral-B AdvancePower Toothbrush D9513:

This toothbrush has protected my teeth and gums from any decay or infections for over 15 years. Of course, I have had to purchase replacement brushes, but my dentist always say, "Keep doing what you are doing with your teeth, they are always so clean and cavity free."

This toothbrush is great! My teeth are old and not so lovely but they feel so clean and much healthier. It is so easy to keep it charged. The heads last a good amount of time and are affordable when they do have to be replaced.
