Opinion Outpost Review

Taking surveys for rewards is something I have been doing for a long time. Even before the advent of the internet, I was taking surveys via snail mail and I took part in several each month. Today, the online method of survey taking has become the standard and one survey- taking site I have used and like is Opinion Outpost, a site with consistent rewards.

Survey Site Commentary:

Opinion Outpost is a simple survey site that offers opinion pieces on hundreds of different topics. New members fill out profiles in areas such as health, personal finance, shopping, and more. Based on the answers in these profiles, Opinion Outpost sends surveys via e-mail. By clicking the provided link in your e-mail, you will be taken to Opinion Outpost and asked to confirm by entering your e-mail address. Once confirmation is completed, a few miscellaneous questions will be asked, followed by the presentation of the survey itself.  

Opinion Outpost offers points for taking surveys, and the points are usually in the ten to fifty range. The points are worth one dime each, so a ten-point survey is worth one dollar, a twenty-point survey is worth two dollars, etc. Members must have a minimum of 50 points (5 dollars worth) in their account in order to redeem and there are two options: Cash or an Amazon.com gift card, delivered via e-mail. Your points will not expire, provided you are an active member, which means you must take at least one survey every three months.

Opinion Outpost is better than most other survey sites when measured by the time it takes to accumulate points and the number of surveys offered. The slow accumulation of points has led me to cancel my membership in most on-line survey services. Only a few have been good enough to continue using and Opinion Outpost is one of them. This service offers a consistent number of survey opportunities (several every week) and the amounts add up more quickly than they do with other survey sites.   

Getting past the qualifying round is a problem in many survey sites and Opinion Outpost is no different- you have to qualify before you can take each survey. However, I have had slightly better luck with Opinion Outpost than with other sites. Not only that, but Opinion Outpost is better about telling you when you have actually qualified for a survey. With other sites, you don't necessarily know if you have passed the qualifying rounds. You can easily answer ten, fifteen, even twenty or more questions and then suddenly receive a message saying that you haven't qualified to continue. Opinion Outpost lets you know once you reach the point of qualification.

Opinion Outpost has some unique qualities that make it different from other survey sites, but it also has a few shortcomings. One area for improvement would be a minimum number of points when you don't qualify for a survey. The site gives you the option to try for an Instant Win (as well as a sweepstakes entry and other things) when you don't pass the qualification round, but a minimum number of points would be nice. I also wish there were more options for point redemption. Right now, the only choices are cash and Amazon.com. This is the fewest options of any survey site I have ever used. Also, if you select the cash option, it will take several weeks to process. The Amazon.com gift card option is processed immediately.

Bottom Line Viewpoint:

I like to share my opinions so it makes perfect sense that I have been a member of different survey companies (both online and offline) for so many years. Opinion Outpost is a site I am satisfied with an will continue to use. It is a good survey web site with a better success and payout rate than most other survey sites. It could stand to be improved in a few ways, but it does offer more than other survey sites with a nice range of survey opportunities and a higher probability for qualification.
