I have just started taking courses at Ashford, and can honestly say that I am EXTREMELY impressed. I graduated from a community college ten years ago, and was far from satisfied with the admissions and financial aid process. After finally finding time to reenter school, I was very apprehensive about beginning the admissions and financial aid process again. To say the least, I was less than excited about continual glitches and last minute schedule changes, because I thought this was a normal but unpleasant part of college. THIS IS NOT THE CASE WITH ASHFORD. They have been amazingly helpful and supportive,...

Buyer Beware. Baker College Online provides an online learning experience which can be convenient, but the quality of each class can vary greatly and their policies are sometimes enforced unevenly to the detriment of their students.
I currently have an Associate's degree from a community college. I earned a 3.9 GPA while working on my Associate's and consider myself to be a serious student. I am also time challenged as a working adult with a family. I've been attending Baker part-time for a few years while working on a Bachelor's degree and expect to graduate in 2010.
The Good: Baker college offers...

My husband enrolled at GCU which was the biggest mistake of our lives. We applied for financial aid. The financial aid counselor Lisa Wright would never return our calls or our emails. She just ignored every question we had. We would then complain to our enrollment counselor and she would finally send us an email and say go to this website and fill out these forms. Well the stupid forms weren't on the website she told us to go to so then we call, email and fax again! Do you think she would take a moment and shoot and email back? NO WAY! She's obviously got other better things...

I am single and 46 years old. I have been laid off 3 times over the last 4 years and I am very interested in pursuing a career that is more stable and will challenge me yet let me be a positive asset to the company I work for as well as help others. So with me having 15 plus years in the Information Technology field I am ready to make a change into the Medical field, primarily in the Transcription, Coding & Billing. I am unemployed at the moment but I need to be able to stay at home if possible and earn my certificate for this position, then my goal is to get a job in this field and continue...

I was a former student at Kaplan University, going for a Bachelor's degree in Business Management. I had applied and received financial aid for a good portion of my studies, until the third semester. I was informed by the school that I had exhausted all of my financial aid, including the Federal Pell Grant. I was almost done with the third semester and holding a solid grade point average. My opinions of this school as well as any other online school is as follows:
Be sure to check out their financial aid policies thoroughly and ask questions. I feel that there was not enough information given to...

I agree that you get out of it what you put in to it. The entrance paper work, credit transfers and financial aide is a bit tricky, you just have to stay on top of it. For a working parent this is a wonderful way to complete a degree. We do not do chapters, we do the entire book front to back. P.S. You can buy your books used anywhere -amazon, cheggs, e-bay, I find them all online at a better price. My average is a 4.0 in to my 4th course. The amount of work I put in to it is above and beyond what is required because I am motivated to do it. Plan three nights a week, not two, 8 hours is not enough,...

American Intercontinental University contacted me after a search of psychology degrees...online. I applied and was accepted, then had to have a way to pay for it. I had to ask family members to help me with a loan. AIU eventually charged me 800.00 in misc charges without an explaination. I tried to drop the classes i was taking because i was grossly misled as to what program i was taking. I wanted to be a psychologist and they hooked me up with occupational psychology classes...non of which had anything to do with what i actually told the advisor i wanted to do. I am deeply disapointed,...
