Great pedometer for the money!

Very user friendly. The initial set up followed the instructions precisely! Buttons are easy to manipulate. Love that it saves for 7 days. Very motivational. This was bought by our company for a wellness challenge and it's been very successful with most participants.I would give this a 10 except for the fact that I keep losing it. Doesn't stay on a belt loop very well. I am using the cord "fail safe" but sometimes I look down and it's just dangling- where it's not registering steps.

Not what I expected, but better than nothing!

This pedometer is small and does the job for keeping track of steps, miles, and calories burned...I think; but it has drawbacks. Drawback #1 - It needs to be hooked to the body in an upright position for it to work. No dropping it into a pocket and because it has to be clipped on I had a few times that it came unclipped to bending and stooping. (I was using mine while working in a warehouse job.) Drawback #2 - This pedometer has no "start/stop" button to customize the time steps are being recorded. It automatically keeps track of steps for a full 24 hour day (12:01 am - 12:00 am). Because I worked 5pm - 3:30 am, I had to combine two days of recorded steps to give me my steps for a work shift. Then I had to subtract the previous shift steps from Midnight to 3:30 am from the following day's steps. Drawback #3 - The kCal (calories) burned is debatable for their accuracy. I read it rates regular steps at one rate and the Aerobic steps (Aerobic steps are are recorded when walking pace is increased.)

The pedometer is very easy to set up and it`s very accurate. The seven day memory is usefull and I like the way you can go through the memory based on mode (distance, calories, steps, aerobic minutes) I highly recommend this pedometer

The best pedometer I've ever used!

This is hands-down the best pedometer of the half-dozen or so that I've tried over the years. I learned about it when a group of walkers I know recommended it to me; it was their unanimous choice of pedometers, and following their recommendation solved the problem for me of trying cheap pedometers and finding them to be inaccurate and unreliable. The Omron HJ-112 is small and sleek, and although you can slide it into its clip and put it on your waistband, it works just as well if you slip it into your pocket without the clip. This is one of the features I like the best. I can put it in my purse or pocket and forget about it, and later I can see that it has been recording my steps reliably all day! It doesn't matter if it has been sideways, upside down, or whatever. I also like that you can set it up according to the length of your own stride, so it can tell you an pretty accurate estimate of distance as well as number of steps.

The Omron Pocket Pedometer is great!

I enjoy exercising at home and I wanted to know how many calories I was burning and how far I was walking/running so I decided to try the Omron Pedometer because it had so many good reviews.  It has not disappointed!!  Not only was it a great price but it is acurate.  Also, it is incredibly convenient since it not only works when it is directly clipped onto your pants or shirt, but also when it is in your pocket or your purse.  You can put in your weight and how old you are to help it more acurately calculate your calories burned which I love.  Also, you can see how many steps you've walked/ran that also has a clock, you can see how manyof those steps were aerobic (and how many min of the aerobic), it shows how many calories and translates that into grams burned, and lastly, how many miles you've gone that day.  It also automatically resets at midnight!!  Lastly, it saves what you have done for an entire week, so you can really look and see how you have done that week.  It helps keep me motivated.  It's a great product!!

Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer is hard to beat

I have tried many pedometers, in the past.  Mostly, I've disliked them because 1) I could never set them correctly; 2) They seemed inaccurate - maybe cause I could never set them correctly (see # 1 LOL); 3) They seemed so ticky tacky and delicate; 4) They always seemed like a toy and not a real piece of athletic equipment. 5) You had to place them just so on your clothes or nothing would register.   Well, the Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer has none of those problems. You can wear the pedometer on your hip, in your pocket, on your shirt - it doesn't matter.  It still registers your walk/run. In addition, it has four modes:  It counts calories, distance, steps and aerobic steps!  It is so simple to go from one mode to the next.  This wonderful pedometer has a watch (I stopped wearing my Timex cause my pedometer does it all).  It resets every day but has a seven day memory in case you want to compare your times. It is rugged.  I've dropped it more times than I can count. It comes with a very tight holder and trouser clip.  This thing stays on, plus it has an extra loop.  I put a carabiner in the loop and now I have twice the protection.  I never want to lose this thing.  The batteries last a long time, and it is obvious when you need to change them.  The pedometer just shows blank.  I have bought several of these pedometers.  I gave one to my sister, my friend, my mother-in-law, and myself.  They are truly the best pedometers on the market.  I find mine invaluable!

Don't leave home without it

I have worn this pedometer daily for the last 3.5 years, and I love it.  It has everything I need in a pedometer.  It keeps very accurate and consistent step counts whether it's clipped on my waist or in my pocket.  It works at a brisk walk or a running pace.  The built-in clock means I don't have to wear a watch any more.  It's very durable, and has survived numerous falls and even a few brief immersions in water.  It's adjustable to your height, weight, and step size, which probably accounts for its accuracy.  The calorie counter and the "aerobic step" counter give me just that much more motivation to get to that magic 10,000 steps a day.  I also love that I can keep track of my steps over the past week. I just bought a second one as the first one was pretty beat up after 3 years of hard living, although it was still working.  It does not work well for counting extremely slow steps, or going up stairs.

Great and easy to use

Over the last few years I have tried several different pedometers. They have been difficult to use and I think, fairly inaccurate. You needed a science to degree to replace the batter. I now have the Omron HJ112 and I am loving it. Putting the battery in was easy. The display is easy to read (the older you get the more important that becomes). It is easy to set and easy to switch between the different modes. The instruction book was clear and easy to understand. I am looking forward to doing some serious walking when the weather gets better, so I can test it further.

I found the perfect pedometer when I bought the Omron HJ112

This is one absolutely terrific and very reliable as well as an extremely well made and very high quality pedometer!!!!!! Having owned more than a dozen such items that were bought from several major manufacturers over the years; I can readily say I like this Omron HJ-112 the very best. It has the least operating problems of any such device I have ever purchased (compared to other units that have had belt-clip breakage problems, screen degrading and screen scratching problems, latch closing problems, etc.). I really like its system of setting and resetting the display very very much and even its memory system is outstanding. The only item that apparently can't be recalled over the week-long maintenance of monitoring your daily walking record is the detailed time record spent on aerobic activities each day. All other items available every day during your workouts are also available for a full seven days with the press of the proper button and it even resets the record each day to zero automatically at midnight to boot! I also like how it attaches to your belt or shoe laces or sits in your pocket, etc. Would I buy it again, yes in a heartbeat and at twice the current asking price on Amazon. I may even buy another one very soon (while thay are still available and still so inexpensive) so that when it does give up the ghost one day in the very distant future, I can still get such a reliable and quality-made measuring device to help me continue to monitor my overall happiness while walking in the deep woods and observing all the beauty of nature!

Walk and Work it the Omron HJ112 Pedometer will keep you Going

So Very Accurate. **Omron HJ112 Premium Pedometer**. Easy to program.  The most difficult thing is measuring your step length.  Take the time to actually do this. Don't guess.  (I did the 10steps and then divided to come up with an accurate measurement for one step.) Was told by the good Dr. to get 10,000 steps a day.  My **Omron HJ112 Premium Pedometer **became my new best friend.  I get the same steps readings each time I walk to the mail box, (808 each way)  The first four steps do not count.  I like that it keeps separate track for aerobic steps.  This way I know if I just got the 10k in by just walking around work or how far I walked on my power walk.  The calorie burned counter is fun too.  Provides a good reason not to eat that second helping.  The egg shape fits easily on the waist and does not attract attention.  The clock function is nice too.  No more having to wear a watch on hot humid days. The battery last about 6 months and easy to change. The 7day memory allows you to review the week's activity  at weigh in time... here are no annoying extra bells  whistles or voices with this pedometer.  Just very accurate and practical.  Bon Exercising
