I have been taking underwater photos for more than 25 years and find this small, simple to use camera a great companion for sailing, windsurfing and snorkling trips and well as skiing and other outdoor activities where snap shots will do. The picture quality is fine and the features (movie, snow etc) are most of what snap shot photographers need. Cons:The zoom is only 3x and it has no view finder making it difficult to frame a picture in very bright light. Not very useful for scuba diving since it is limited to 10 ft underwater. This is a great camera and a wonderful value for the money. Day time pictures and night pictures are clear. Many menu choices to help you get the best picture possible for what ever the scene is. The software for the pc that comes with the camera is great and easy to use. It will help you make very professional photos. This camera can be used for underwater photos and catchs clear photos of moving objects. It can also take small videos. I would buy this camera again and again. The Olympus Stylus 790SW Digital Camera is the best digital camera I have ever owed. I have been thru 4 Sony digital cameras that died on me within a year of purchase. After lots of research I found out that Olympus was making some great long lasting cameras that can be dropped and still work flawlessly.
