Olympus - Stylus 710 Digital Camera Review

I had another Olympus before this one, and I really loved that one. People used to always be jealous of my large view screen, and the same is true of this model. I think the ability to see the pictures after you take them and really see the detail at that moment is important. This one is about half as slim as that one, and the size is so much more convenient for carrying in my pocket if I need to keep it handy. This model also has a dial setting, as opposed to going into the menu function, for programming which kind of picture you're taking, i.e. landscape, landscape and portrait, night scene. This camera also has a very nice video function, and all the videos come out looking very nice and the sound is very crisp.

The only function that I'm not as happy with is that you have to switch the dial to the review mode. There was also one on the last model, but there was also a little button to push to see the last picture taken. It was so convenient to just push a tiny button and be able to see the picture. It would stay on screen until the button to take a picture was pushed. So, now you have to switch the dial to show people the last shot and then switch the mode back to picture-taking, and it's just more of a hassle.

Also, the camera I have was refurbished, and when we would take a picture, it would shut down. We sent it back to Olympus to get it fixed, and though they wanted to charge us because they thought it had been opened (being refurbished, of course it was opened), they ended up believing when we said it hadn't been and didn't charge us for the fix. Now, it works perfectly.
