Great Point and Shoot for beginner to average photographer
I have loved Olympus cameras for basic point and shoot use for years. This is my 4th. While it take good pictures, it feels like a step down from my last Olympus (that was one of the original stylus models). There is greater lag time between pushing the button and the photo being taken, the loss of the dial on the back of the camera for setting means so much more hunting on the screen for the settings I am looking for. I love grabbing some quick video with this camera. I only wish I could zoom while shooting video. :( Overall, it is functional, intuitive, lightweight, compact and versatile. (If I hadn't had my previous Olympus that I loved, I would give this a higher rating overall.) Image Quality Certainly not DSLR but excellent for a point and shoot! Performance A little slow. Lag between button and shot being taken. Ease of Use A few too many things have to be done on the screen instead of the "old style" dials on the back of the camera. Durability I used my last one hard! It only died when dropped on an open and extended lens. Battery Life LOVE, LOVE, LOVe that this charges thru USB!!!! It does lose some charge if left in a cold car overnight. (Learned that the hard way. Oops!) Portability Fabulous! Easily fits in a pocket or purse. Of course, better to be stored in a proper camera case -- but with two small kids, that just never seems to happen!
