If you live in the state of Virginia or would like to study in Virginia, then one college you might want to consider is Old Dominion University, located in Norfolk, Virginia. Old Dominion University is liked for many reasons; among them the large number of academic programs, the availability of night classes offered to accommodate working adults, and the off- campus classes for convenience. “Awesome Programs for Working Adults” is how one person describes Old Dominion University and other than the fact that Old Dominion is more of a commuter campus and thus lacks the full campus experience offered by some schools, Old Dominion is still well- respected among Colleges and Universities and it makes a good choice for those wanting to go to school near the Virginia coast.

Notraditional, off-site classes - can be a lifesaver

"Let's do it another way," seems to be a consistant trait of ODU. This university grew out of William and Mary to establish another way of learning. ODU is a leader in the non-traditional method of education. Even in the far-off reaches of Arizona, Georgia and ships-at-sea, ODU is there via direct link or videostreaming. Program coursework can be taken, or completed, off site simply by sitting at a computer or in front of a linked TV, and watching the class in "real time" or on tape as it happened on the ODU campus. Awesome programs for working adults

I love the may different programs that ODU offers. I received my BS from here and will soon receive my MS. I will probably attend a different school for my PhD, only because many employers would like a person to have attended more than just the one school. I am a very bisy person and do not want to have to drive miles to get to classes. ODU offers many televised classes in the local area, so that ore people can attend and gain their education. … read full review »

I had a blast my four years at ODU. I was a student athlete, which definently made it more enjoyable for me. The school has made a lot of improvements since I left and they're also getting a football team. The school has a variety of classes and is very diverse. The one thing I didn't like too much was it was more of a commuter school, I like the college town feel, but it was still a cool place to live. Fun and Educational

not rich, believe in higher education, appreciative of good service, average student, pc-user, procrastinator

The school is big, but not so big. so that one can still walk from builing to building, and still be on time for classes. They have a wonderful international program, which makes for a very diverse student body. On campus housing is getting better, with a new facility called the "Quad" just being finished this year.
