I don't let television commercials sway my purchase. However I was sitting in our travel trailer with shorts on and heard a commercial asking if I had laugh lines on my legs! Well I do and short of a body lift what was I to do? Well I got Olay Body Age Transform Body Cream Serum. Except for my Obagi products I really don't believe any of the claims made by companies but that doesn't mean I don't keep trying! My skepticism turned out accurate for this product.
A Closer View
We are told that this Body Crème Serum boosts skin so it can fight the five signs of aging. What they are we aren't told. Without doing any research I can figure out that dry skin, lack of elasticity, brown spots, lines and wrinkles and uneven skin tone probably encompass the signs of aging.
The Serum has an antioxidant complex which includes Vitamin C, green tea and grapeseed extracts. I'm all for these three. In fact I eat or take them daily in some form. On my body they are supposed to protect my skin and moisturize it. In addition it should show more elastic, even tones skin. (I'll take you to the bridge I'm selling.)
The ingredients are pretty awful if you care about what you are putting on your skin. It has alcohol which is drying though I know found in most products and the whole stearate family - or almost.
From www.olay.com:

The crème is wonderful in many ways. It's off white and rich. It's very thick and has a really nice aroma that stays for awhile but is not overpowering. It absorbs immediately and easily into my skin. It has a pump applicator so I can get just how much I want.
As a moisturizer it is terrific. It cost me about $10.00 for 10.1 fluid ounce. My skin does feel soft after I apply it; however I don't even want to address the elimination of laugh lines because I think it's laughable.
I believe that using sunscreen and staying out of the sun are the best ways to keep your skin looking young. Moisturizing with a product you like is essential. This is a nice one but....
There are many nice moisturizers on the market that have nicer ingredients and that aren't tested on animals so I won't be buying this one again. I will recommend it if you aren't an ingredient fanatic or animal activist because it has a great feeling and smell.
