When we got a puppy we started feeding it Ol Roy dog food, not knowing any better and believing the "healthy" hype on the bag.  Soon our puppy loosing the hair around his eye. We took him to the vet and discovered he had mange. The vet asked what we were feeding him, and when we told him Ol' Roy, he told us how bad this food was.  We did some research, and found a high quality dog food.  Within two weeks the hair was back around his eye, he was noticably more energetic, and his coat took on a shiny glean and smooth feel.  We took all the Ol' Roy we had and threw it in the garbage, where it belongs.

This is a perfect review for Ol' Roy. Just because a dog doesn't get cancer isn't an indication of a good healthy dog food. Dogs can shed excessively, have poor gum health and low energy among other things. Owners only notice big things like diagnosible diseases. It's hard for a dog to communicate that his quality-of-life could be better. I'm glad you found a better dog food while your pet was still a puppy. Hope he's doing better.
