Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment Review

The first time I saw Ojon I was watching QVC with my friend.  When the product came on the air she grabbed the phone and said "Those people have gorgeous hair.  I'm ordering that gunk."  To which I replied "Duhhhhhh, they were BORN with beautiful hair, silly.  It's not the product."  The "people of beautiful hair" are Central America's Miskito Indians.  They live in the lowlands along the Caribbean coast and were encountered by Columbus on his fourth voyage to the Americas in 1502.  Ojon Corporation claims that the secret to their beautiful hair is Ojon which is a rich exotic oil that is extracted from the tropical Ojon tree which grows only in the rainforest of this particular area.  Although my friend ordered the product I stood by my claim that genetics is the reason for their beautiful hair and refused to try the product.

Well my friend felt otherwise and sent me my very own Ojon Hair Treatment for Christmas last year.  I took one sniff of it and recoiled at the scent.  It smelled like a combination of ashtray and... nuts?  Chocolate?  Not sure.  All I could smell was ashtray.  So the Ojon sat on my bathroom counter for several months collecting dust.  And then the day finally came when I decided to color my hair three times on the same day.  I went darker but it wasn't dark enough so I dyed it even darker and then added highlights and was left with a bit of a brown haystack.  I reached for the stinky Ojon and gave it a try.

I scooped a small glob of it out of the jar and melted it by rubbing my hands together as I saw on TV then smoothed it all over my hair.  When it was on my hair it didn't smell quite as repulsive as it did straight from the jar.  After about 2 hours I took a shower and shampooed it all out.  And I was amazed.  It was another of those heavens unzipping and angels singing moments.  My hair was so smooth, soft, and healthy-feeling after I dried it.  I could not believe that just 2 hours before I had colored my hair three times.  It was not perfectly healthy hair but much better than before and the scent of the Ojon had been left behind.

I now use Ojon about twice a month or whenever I've been outside a lot or riding in my husband's convertible and my hair feels worn out, tangled, and dry.  The scent has totally grown on me as the ashtray scent does not linger on my hair; just the nutty scent.  I've even started to use some of the other Ojon products.  I receive a kit with their shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, styling cream, and Ojon treatment every 60 days from QVC.  I really love the way my hair feels and looks after I've used Ojon.

I've been seriously working on growing my hair long for about six months and truly believe that Ojon has helped me get through the really ugly months without chopping it all off.  I also still truly believe that the "people of beautiful hair" were born with beautiful hair but Ojon might have a little something to do with that.
