We have two desktop computers and a laptop computer between the four of us in my household. Our LCD/monitor screens often get fingerprints and dust on them. My husband went to Office Max and purchased the OfficeMax LCD Cleaning System for $8.99. It appeared as though we had everything we needed to keep our computers clean.

What does this cleaning system come with?

This cleaning system comes with an applicator/brush, 1.1 oz. of cleaning solution and 5 applicator pads

About the cleaning system ...

The dual-function cleaning tool that is included with this set has a brush on one side that is made from micro-fine fibers to safely remove dust and debris from not only keyboards but from monitors as well. There is no need to spray the cleaning solution on this brush. The other side has a cleaning pad made out of micro fiber that once the cleaning solution is sprayed on it, allows you to remove dirt and micro-contaminants from the LCD screen. The pad can be used at least three times by opening the tool and moving the pad until a clean spot is in place. When the initial pad is used up, a new pad can be replaced. The brush is also removable if it needs to be cleaned or if you find it easier to handle without the rest of the tool. When cleaning is completed, be sure to replace the caps to keep the tool clean.

**Please note that the instructions state to never spray the cleaning solution directly on the LCD screen.

What I think about it ...

I really like the brush feature that this system has. It does a very good job of removing debris and dust from keyboard and screen. It's easy to use and handle. I am not impressed with the other side of the applicator. First, for some reason it is difficult to remove the pad and wipe holder when the pad needs replacing. Second, after cleaning my LCD screen, there are streaks left behind. Another reason I'm not overly thrilled with this product is that refill pads cannot be purchased separately. I recently checked on the OfficeMax website and called my local store.  I was told that a completely new kit would have to be bought.

My Final Viewpoint

The OfficeMax LCD Cleaning System is not that great of a product. It has some good features but also some not so good ones. I don't think this is much more than an average product therefore I am giving this LCD cleaning system a 3 star rating.

I think that is some good advice and what I will do from now on. Thanks for the tip!

My iMac says don't use anything but water and a soft cloth. I cleaned it, spots and fingerprints, and it turned out beautifully.
