This product has only 4.75% DEET, making it a good choice for those who worry about the potential side effects of this chemical. And it offers a nice, pleasant scent that is much better than that of regular OFF or other insect repellents. Off Skintastic Family Care Insect Repellent Tropical Fresh is a good product from the folks who wrote the book on insect repellents. Ask anyone to name an insect repellent and the first name that comes to mind is Off. Its aerosol spray was its original product and while it works fine, I like the pump spray better. You don't get the fumes/mist like you do with the aerosol and the scent of this pump product is much better. So, how well does Off Skintastic Family Care Insect Repellent Tropical Fresh work at repelling insects? It works okay if bugs are not as abundant and it keeps bugs at bay for a couple of hours. However, it doesn't have the staying power of other insect repellent products, and that includes regular aerosol OFF. You have to be prepared to apply more and more throughout the day. My Bottom Line: Insects are annoying and some can be dangerous, so it is important to do what you can to protect you and your family from these common pests. Off Skintastic Family Care Insect Repellent Tropical Fresh takes care of your minor insect problems, with a fresh scent and a good deal of effectiveness. It would be nice if a single application lasted a little longer, but this is still a good product for keeping the bugs at bay. Effectiveness This product works okay, but not as well as others and you need to apply approximately every two hours. Ease of Application This product is applied through a pump and it works well, but it does take a little longer than using an aerosol spray. Scent This is one of the best- scent insect repellents you will ever try.

During the spring and summer months, mosquitoes, gnats, and other pesky insects invade my property. Living in the deep south, with a creek behind my home and a pond beside my home make my yard and the peole who happen to be in it huge targets for insects. The same is true for my son's baseball games. The insects are so bad that it's almost impossible for the boys to keep their eyes on the ball instead od swatting tiny sand gnats and mosquitoes. those same insects also make it difficult for the spectators to keep our eyes on the ball games. The biting insects hone in on whomever happens to be around and they attack... biting and stinging, making us all miserable, with itching and swelling bug bites. It's frustrating and aggravating. One of my favorite sprays to keep those insects at bay is **Off! Skintastic Insect Repellent for the Family, Spray Pump**. I spray the exposed skin and clothing of my family with this very nicely tropical scented spray about every two hours, and it works as well or better than other insects repellents, but it only contains 4.75% DEET, so it's less harmful for my family. **Off! Skintastic Insect Repellent for the Family **does stop being effective after about two hours, so it's imprtant to remember to use it again before the insects realize it has worn off, but that's a small inconvenience when weighing the pros and cons of this product. It contains aloe, so it's gentle and soothing on your skin, the tropical scent smells much better than other insect repellent sprays, and the fact that it contains some DEET but much less than other leading brands are all positive aspects that keep me buying and using **Off! Skintastic**. I consider this to be an above average product even though a couple of insects may still find their way through the repellent and bite my family and me. I have yet to find any insect repellent that is fool proof, even if it contains much more DEET than Off! Skintastic, and it is the only one I have found that has a pleasant, light scent. It's not the only insect repellent I keep around and use a lot, but it's one of my favorites. The pros definitely outweigh the cons when it comes to this product and I recommend it. ****
