The OXO Good Grips Pastry Scraper is the perfect tool when I'm making Christmas Cookies. I have a granite counter, so I can roll my cut out sugar cookies directly on my counter. After I'm done rolling a batch, I like to scrape off the counter so none of the old dough makes it harder for me to roll out a new batch. Instead of getting out a paper towel to clean off the counter, I just scrape away the dough with the pastry scraper. This is a great tool that does not cause any damage to my kitchen counter. I don't typically put this in the dishwasher, but I think it would be okay if someone were to put it in the dishwasher. I just wash it by hand, which is relatively easy. The handle on the pastry scraper is nice because it's a thick enough piece that I can grip it easily. Ease of Cleaning This is easy to wash by hand, but it would be even easier to wash in the dishwasher. I just don't like to put it in the dishwasher because sometimes similar items will get their finish removed when you put it in the dishwasher.

I am a huge fan of everything OXO! This pastry scraper is durable and works great! I can't express how much I love it and the brand overall! The grip is great and the tool is very comfortable when using it. This product is so great to use from pastries to cooking! I use it to dice onions, cut dough and so much more! It is very easy to clean as well! The design is great and very durable. It is also a great tool for measuring. I love using it to dice while cooking on my cutting board and then using it to scrape everything into the pot! It is so easy and convenient! One less tool to wash after dinner which is very important when you do not have a dish washer! I would highly recommend this tool to anyone who wants to be more efficient and quicker in the kitchen. The sharpness is just right for dough and small vegetables but not sharp enough for cutting thicker vegetables like butternut squash.

I do a lot of baking from scratch and it is important to have good tools in my kitchen. I inherited my first pastry scraper from my mom, but I found that it scratched up my counters and my metal pans. I invested in the OXO pastry scraper because I own a number of other OXO products and have been impressed with the quality of the items from this company. This pastry scraper is no exception. The signature OXO handle is what really sold me on this kitchen gadget. It is easy to handle and does not slip out of my grip as I am using it. I also find that the metal portion of the pastry scraper is sharp enough to scrape the dough well but it does not scratch my counters or my metal pans. I also find that the pastry scraper washes up well. I am able to easily clean the rubber handle and the metal portion of the pastry scraper. Overall, this is a great addition to my kitchen! I continue to be impressed with the OXO line of products.

The OXO series of kitchen products are designed to last for years, provide supreme comfort and accomplish tasks that similar products can't effectively tackle. I have owned several pastry and board scrapers over the years and have used them for a variety of applications. The OO Good Grips Pastry Scraper can be used on glass, marble, tile, wood and porcelain to remove sticky dough and thick batter. The all-metal scrapers that I have are great when working on cold metal surfaces for cutting dough but they lack a rubber comfort grip so they can be tedious to work with. This has a rectangular shape to it and to some people that could be a con because of the non-rounded corners but for me I see it as a huge perk because it allows for smooth scraping and cutting, especially when working with bread dough that isn't completely chilled. It is easy to clean and is dishwasher safe but I prefer to hand wash and air dry items like this to make sure that nothing is stuck to the edge under the handle. The blade section is not sharpened but it does an excellent job of scraping food off of surfaces and for scoring dough or cutting it in to smaller sections. While you can not chop vegetables with this it can be used to transfer diced or chopped vegetables into mixing bowls. I have never had any issues with the blade section warping or bending and I have had mine for over three years. Ease of Cleaning Generally easy to clean but you need to inspect it for dents or dings. Durability Under normal use this can last for years. Design This does not have rounded side edges; for some people that could be a con. I prefer the straight edges for easier scoring and scraping.

I enjoy cooking and baking but I'm no professional by any means so I do make mistakes, quite often actually. I enjoy making homemade pizza dough and if you've ever made pizza dough then you know that it can be rather sticky, especially if your not kneading out of the right surface. One day I was watch America's Test Kitchen and they had a helpfully hint that you could use a pastry scraper to help knead the dough. I tried it and it works great, you can also use the OXO Good Grips Pastry Scraper to cut the dough in half if needed. This pastry scraper made making pizza so much easier. I also use the OXO Good Grips Pastry Scraper when I'm chopping vegetables for soup or something, once you have all you vegetables chopped you can use the scraper to scoop them all up and transfer them into the pot. I used to just use the knife but the pastry scraper makes it so much easier and I don't drop anything. Ease of Cleaning This pastry scraper is very easy to clean, there are no crevices for food to get stuck in. Design The OXO Pastry Scraper is very comfortable to hold in your hand and it has measurements on the bottom so if you need to measure out your dough you don't have to take out the ruler. This truly is one of the most used tools, besides my knife, in my kitchen.

As a child I grew up watching my grandmother make everything from scratch. She used lard to make delicious homemade pies. She baked her own breads and pastries, and she always had a pastry scraper on hand to help her out. Oxo makes a great many kitchen gadgets, but the Oxo Pastry Scraper is a very handy tool to have around, it does a lot more than you might think. The scraper is made of stainless steel and it has a comfortable, non-slip rubberized handle. It measures 6" in length and there are one inch measurements along the bottom of the blade. I love to make homemade sticky buns, bread, and rolls. I often need to cut the dough into equal portions, and this pastry cutter does a good job of cutting evenly through the dough, yet isn't sharp enough that I am worried about cutting myself on the blade. My grandmother used her cutter to clean her counters off! Making bread is messy, and I always have my counters covered with flour during the kneading process. Trying to clean this up with a hot dishrag only makes a messy flour paste on my rag. The pastry cutter scrapes my counters clean. As for the other uses, well it can cut a pan of lasagna into portion sized squares, it can cut a pizza, and it can cut cake into smaller sizes. The 6" ruler on the bottom of the blade assures me that I am getting equal sized portions. In a pinch the scraper can also be used as a pastry cutter, or to chop up butter, flour and cinnamon for that cobbler topping. A highly recommended kitchen gadget! When I first started my own kitchen years ago, one of the best items I ever received as a present was a pastry scraper. It had a wooden handle and is still very useful today. Being a kitchen fanatic family, we ended up having a few pasty scrapers in our kitchen, as we make a lot of breads, dough, and pastries. The OXO Good Grips Pastry Scraper is one of the best I have seen. The Good Grips Pastry Scraper has a honed end which is sharper than other pastry scrapers that we have used. It has a soft rubbery handle on it which is easy to hold and comfortable to use. The blade is sharp enough to scrape with, but it also can be used for light chopping of items which are not too hard., such as peppers or similar veggies or fruits. What I like about it is that there is a ruler on one end of this, which makes it great if you are making cinnamon rolls and want to cut the rolls equally. You simply measure, make a dent, measure for the next ones, etc, so that you can quickly cut the dough with the scraper and be on your way. Ease of Cleaning This pastry scraper is a breeze to clean. It is smooth and easy to scrub if necessary, as long as you are careful of the end of the scraper- it can be on the sharp side. Durability This scraper is designed for long term use. It has lasted some years and shows no signs of wearing out either. Design The scraper is used for so many things in our house it is hard to remember all of the uses. My daughter uses it to chop garlic or pepper, smash garlic, cut rolls, cut pastry, scrape pastry, scrape dough from the counter from noodles, bread, or pies, cut butter into slices, and measure all kinds of things too- the ruler is SO handy. I have been using just about every variety of the OXO kitchen tools for the better part of ten years, ever since I really got into cooking in a big way. I was concerned about eating healthy and the best way to do that was to take real care to prepare my own food. I have used other pastry scrapers--which, despite the name, are not only for pastry, although they do a great job in that area--and found them OK for a while, but if you are going to be doing a more serious volume of kitchen preparation, eventually the merely adequate design of the off brands begins to take a toll. The OKO scraper has a nice blade that keeps it edge for a long time between sharpenings, which is nice, but for the even better part, the essential part, is how the scraper fits in my hand. It is just a plain blade, but it really seems to have been given as much attention as a fancy motorized food processor. I really enjoy using it to prepare food, especially knowing that my time in the kitchen will not be a joy, not a chore.

As someone who cooks often I am always on the lookout for new and exciting products to use in the kitchen. One of my recent discoveries was the OXO Good Grips Pastry Scraper and I have to say that this is one of my favorite items to use in the kitchen! I mostly find it useful for scraping, measuring and cutting certain items. Another plus is that it is excellent for cleaning up those hard to get crumbs after baking. The best thing of all about this product is the grip. Certain kitchen tools are hard to grip or hurt after using for a long period of time. No such problem here. THe grip is a pleasure. The price is very good and it is very easy to clean. Anyone who spends a lot of time in the kitchen would very much enjoy this product. There really is no downside. It does exactly what it is supposed to at a very reasonable price. Just keep out of reach of children as the blade is very very sharp. Highly recommended!
