Only acceptable tampon

I love Ob because of the no applicator situation. I also have always had horribly heavy cycles and ob has never failed me.

My Second Choice For Tampons

4

I usually try to stock up on Kotex Security Super and Super Plus tampons when they are on sale; I go through a 36 count box every month (sometimes more) so I need to have a small stockpile of them. When stores are out of the Kotex Security I will get the O.B. Ultra because they help to prevent leaks. I do not like the applicator-free version because they can be extremely messy to change and if you are changing in a public restroom you have to wait until no one else is there so you can wash your hands. If you do not have a heavy flow or need something discrete then the applicator-free version is a better pick but if you have a heavy flow you will be able to insert the applicator version a lot easier. I like that these are easy to insert and remove and that the cord is long; when I get these I have to get the ones with the highest absorbency rating to avoid accidents. When there are coupons for them and they are on sale I will buy them even if I don't need them at the moment because I know that eventually I will have a need for them. While they are not as discrete as the applicator-free tampons they are easier to insert and you never have to worry about not getting them in far enough. They are about the same price as the Kotex Security but I prefer the plastic applicator that Kotex has over the cardboard applicator that you get with O.B.

Love these for VERY HEAVY days. Lasts for hours finally!

I rarely give any product a 10 out of 10 but I have to give it to this one. The first few days of my period are often excruciatingly heavy. When I first started having periods, they were so heavy that I would often use the Super Plus tampons and wear a pad to bed as well only to discover that after 6 or 7 hours of sleep I would wake up with leaks everywhere and uncomfortable because the pad didn't do a very good job since I'm a side sleeper and tosser. Finding out that a company made an Ultra tampon was amazing for me. These are so wonderful and when I sleep now, I don't have to worry about having too much flow or having a mess in my bed. I'll just be blunt about it. I am finally able not to wear a pad to sleep or stress about whether or not I'll have a mess to deal with. Another awesome feature is that these actually expand in circumference and not lengthwise. The genius that made tampons that expand in length is an idiot. Sometimes they will expand right out of the vaginal opening and you're left feeling very uncomfortable and knowing you have a problem. With these I've never felt them slip or expand out of me. I know, being blunt again, but that's all I can say really. The string is a little long on these. I know that can be a good thing but sometimes it moves more towards the back and irritates areas I wish it wouldn't. That's the only draw back. I notice a lot of women complaining about not having an applicator. This isn't a big deal to me. Do not be afraid to get your hands dirty. I'm sure you've gotten a lot worse on your at some point in life, or if you haven't, you need to get over it. It's really very easy. Just rotate the string around a little to kind of create an indention for your finger, then insert. Don't be so worried about your finger actually touching yourself while on your period. You can easily wash your hands. It's not going to hurt you, seriously. These are much more environmentally friendly because of the lack of an applicator and they are stealthy. You can seriously hide these anywhere. I used started using them in middle school and continued to do so all through college because you can stash them in any bag, wallet, purse, pocket etc. You can seriously sneak without anyone ever noticing you have a tampon and with the coverage and protection you get, no one needs to know you're on your period. The only thing I can say negative is swimming--and this is going to sounds weird--but if you're swimming the string can sometimes be too long so I just clip it down. I know, weird, but otherwise you risk the string coming out and showing to anyone under water. Just being blunt here ladies. Enjoy the review and thank goodness for these tampon! Circumference is where I need protection, not lengthwise! Thank you O.B.

No good

I have an unusually heavy flow the first 2 days and had heard OB ultra was the best but had been discontinued. I found them at a walmart and tried them. Even using TWO of them with a maxi I still leaked badly both nights. I will stick to my tampax pearl SP and a maxi-they usually work and I only need one.

Was awesome, now disappointing.

I used to LOVE ob, but there must've been some formulation changes. They used to be more cotton, but now, it seems there's more of a polyblend, decreasing their absorbancy. The one thing that still is 100% cotton is the cord, which, unfortunately, is doing a great job of wicking the flow straight to my clothing. The ultra absorbant seem to still be 100% cotton. These are my go-to tampons, but I can't recommend any but the ultra due to this unfortunate wicking. Please, go back to the original formulation.

Works well!

I have been using tampons for about 10 years now, and I have tried many different kinds over the years. Overall my favorite brand is definitely O.B. Tampons. I have tried plenty of tampons with applicators and I actually don't like them as much. For some reason I feel like they don't open up enough to keep leaks from happening. O.B. tampons without the applicators work much better for me. The Ultra Absorbency tampons stop leaks from happening and keep me feeling clean and fresh. I cant even feel them, which is even better, and it almost helps make me feel like I'm not even on my period, other than the bloating/cramps at times. I know they say the higher the absorbency of tampons, the more the risk of getting TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome), so I try to even out the amount of absorbencies I use. I mostly use these Ultra Absorbency tampons during the heaviest days and try to stick with Supers or Regulars on other days. They have a multipack you can buy at most stores. They're small and discreet, so they're easy to take with you and store anywhere. I highly recommend O.B. Tampons!!

Perfect in every way

In the old ads, OB was touted as being "made for women by a woman", and man did she get it right!! Perfect size, perfect absorbency, perfectly discreet, perfect non-applicator format. The list goes on. I am dismayed that this absorbency has been discontinued when a little marketing could have introduced them to a whole new customer base. I've not seen them advertised in WAY too long. Talk about bad business decisions. Wondering if a competitor might be able to pick up the design?

I'll never use regular tampons again

I started using OB Tampons after a friend gave it rave reviews. From the very first time I used it, I knew I wasn't going back to my regular tampons. Though at first glance you think its tricky to use, I actually found it lots simpler than tampons with cardboard or plastic applicators. The absorbency far surpases that of other brands and after four years of use I can tell you that I have never had an issue with leakage (and I've never gone back to my previous brand of tampons). Even better is the fact that there isn't an applicator to throw away or flush down the toilet. OB Tampons are convenient to tote around, even in your back pocket. You can't say that about any other tampon. Also, OB Tampons are very reasonably priced and the available absorbencies meet every need imaginable. Give them a try and you'll agree that they are great.

O.B. Tampons only ones for me

As I have gotten older and developed fibroids, I have been experiencing heavy periods. O,B. Tampons Ultra Absorbency are the only thing that allows me to not miss work due to worry about staining my work clothes. i have tried other brands, but none is as absorbent. I also like that they have no applicator and can be carried and disposed of discreetly. I have had difficulty finding this absorbency in stores, and often must order them online in order to have a supply on hand. I wish all tampons came in an ultra absorbency, but I have only found that size in Playtex and O.B. The O.B. ones expand to fit without leakage, and are easy to insert and remove. I feel that I am doing my part to be green by having less waste to dispose of. These are my favorite tampons.

O.B is my favorite tampon..

I love OB tampons and I think a lot of people do too. I like them because I usually don't have to use more than one or two during the day since they are super absorbancy and I love how they have no applicator so I can carry it in my pocket or purse and it's not bulky. I do thin that some people my not like them because of the no applicator they might get a little messy and uncomfortable for some people to use. I also think they are expensive unless they are on sale or you get coupons. I won't buy them unless they are on sale and I have coupons and then I will buy a bunch so they last me while. You have to shop around for these and get them in a discount store because some regulr stores mark them up really high. Overall, I will buy these even though they are pricy because they are the only no applicator tampon I can find and I won't use anything else ever since I started using these are my favorite.
