A Cockatiel is a low maintenance and cost-friendly pet. I have two cockatiels and the most costly item was their cage. They are both very friendly and my male can talk. They will sit on my shoulder and when I let them out  to fly around to get their exercise they will land right by us on the couch and walk on us. They love their toys and millet sprays along with their birdseed, which I buy in bulk to save money. I would reccommend a cockatiel to anyone who would like a low maintenance pet. It is best to NOT clip their wings and to let them out of their cages daily for time to fly so they can exercise and have interaction with you.
