I've always had the worst luck with birth control methods...if I wasn't getting sick from birth control pills or experiencing a decreased sex drive from weird hormone levels, then I was fighting with condom wrappers or frantically ripping Ortho Evra patches from my hip for fear I'd wind...
review »I hope everyone takes into consideration that you cannot compare apples to apples. Everyone will react differently. I use Nuvaring and I would say please try it for yourself before you pass judgement based on someone else's review!
For a year now, I've had excellent results with the only side effects being a slight decrease in appetite and very, very, very mild vaginal irration towards the end of the three weeks (and this is only occasionally, for that matter). This method is great for me and never (in the course of one year) have I experienced a "slip". My ring always navigates...
review »I have been using the Nuva Ring birth control for three years now. It is the best switch I could have made! It is so easy to use, only requires you to pay attention really once a month. It has shortened my periods and helped relieve some of my cramping! I didn't gain any weight on this one either! I was always nervous on the one a day pills because I know that if you don't take them at the same exact (within an hour) time every day they are significantly less effective. I was never good at remembering to take it! Now I just look at my calendar, and remember that after 3 weeks I need...
review »I used Nuvaring for a couple of month and tracked it on a physical calendar. I marked my periods, insertion and removal dates. To my devestating surprise, I ended up in the hospital with horrible abdominal pain. The ER dr told me I was pregnant. I was having internal bleeding for about a week (thinking my period was lasting longer than usual), however, it was my right fallopian tube that ruptured. I was rushed to surgery. I had a heteroetopic pregnancy and drs were not expecting the fetus in my uterus to survive the tramau. Long story short, not only I'm I still pregnant but it was TWINS in my...
review »I love the nuva ring because its easy to use and it's been very effective considering that I am as fertile as fertile can be. I got the mirena at first and hated it because the strings where so uncomfortable and I just didn't want to wait months till they got soft. So I decided to try the nuva ring and it has worked out great! And I guess its working because I haven't gotten pregnant. I was positive if I would of gone on the pill I would of probably of had another baby. And the last thing I needed was to have two babies in the same year. I am so happy I went with it. I haven't gained weight I've...
review »I had a "less than perfect track record for remembering the pill everyday". I love only having to remember to take out and insert a ring once a month!
Previous to taking the Nuvaring, I had been taking Orthotricyclen-lo for about 3 years. Would usually breakout (mild) within a week of taking the sugar pills (within a week of starting my period). With Nuvaring I haven't broken out once! woo hoo!
UPDATE:
I believe Nuvaring may have made me emotional/depressed for a few days during months 2,3, and 4. Seems to have gone away now (on month 6). The reason I am not sure if Nuvaring caused this...
review »I take a lot of pills for a condition I have. I absolutely hate it when I have to add yet another pill. So, I loves me my NuvaRing! When inserting, it's supposed to be near the cervix, but it can migrate anywhere and it still works. I can't feel it. My husband can, but it doesn't bother him. It's never come out as a result of sex. I've never gained weight on it.
I have forgotten to take it out once and left it in a week too long. No problems. That's the only thing for me. It's easy to forget it. Every ring comes with stickers you can put on your calendar to remind you when to take it out and...
review »Ok so in high school i was put on the birth control pill to control my acne and my period.. i used to spend a week in the bathroom puking my guts up before i got on birth control because the cramping was so horrendous. Well i got sick of having to remember the pill everyday so i began the depo shot which caused my body to think i was pregnant which caused me to gain 20pounds and lactate! well i definitely was not pregnant so i got off the shot and tried Yaz.. yaz was amazing but well it was a pill I had to once again remember and it was like i was playing roullette with the pill cuz i did not...
review »I love my nuvaring. i dont have to remeber to take a pill at the same time everyday. it comfortable and you wont even notice it is in there and my boyfriend loves the way it feels
I tried the nuva ring while getting into a newer relationship after a divorce. It had been a long time since I was on birth control as my ex husband had a vasectomy. I thought the nuva ring would be great...and in theory...it was. When I first began using it I told my new love that I was now on birth control...and choose not to explain any further. It was freeing and enjoyable and I remember thinking too myself how I couldnt feel it at all...till it was over. He looked...ahhh...fightened? confused? I asked what was wrong and he pointed to himself...The nuva ring had worked down his...
review »I would not recommend the Nuva Ring birth control to anyone. My husband and I were looking for something different and easy. Something that I would not have to remember every day and something that would obviously keep me from concieving. The doctor insured me that this was indeed the birth control for me. So, the things I did not like about it... Let's start with the fact that I had trouble getting it to stay in. No matter how far I seemed to push it up, it was constantly slipping out. I would be doing normal every day business and I would feel it slipping out. It was very unconfortable. I also...
review »I do not suggest this birth control at all, it really messed me up! I switched to nuvaring because I am not very good at taking a pill at the same time everyday. But after about 2 months I had to take it out and go back to loestrin 24 (very good birth control!) Nuvaring made me very depressed. I am a usually happy, social college student and nuvaring made me reclusive and sad all the time. I sat in my dorm room all day doing nothing. I would call my friend and start crying for no reason at all. I haven't felt the same since.
