NutriSystem Nourish 2-week Favorites Plan Review Summary

The NutriSystem 2-Week Favorites Plan gets decidedly mixed reviews from Viewpoints members. On the plus side, there is a “good variety of entrees to choose from” and many meals are convenient and only take “1 minute to zap in the microwave”. While some reviewers say that the NutriSystem food was “not bad tasting”, some reviewers complained that the taste wasn’t to their liking. Whether the flavors and “overwhelming spice” becomes “hard to choke down” after a month or so, or whether everything tasted “absolutely disgusting” right off the bat seemed to be up for debate among those who didn’t like it’s taste. The biggest complaint amongst Viewpoints reviewers about the NutriSystem Nourish 2-week Favorites Plan was the expensive price and the fact that they had weekends off - and often fell off the wagon all weekend long, negating their weekday weight loss. This plan has been wonderful - you eat the Nutrisystem food for 5 days, Monday through Friday, and then you take the weekends off and eat normally. My dieting goal was 15 pounds and in the first 4 weeks I've lost 10 of those pounds. And it's actually easy! There is plenty of food to get you through the... review »

I think I've been on every diet that exists.  Weight Watchers, Zone, Atkins, South Beach, you name it.  I've tried them all and always am successful but I have big time trouble with consistency.  I'm all or nothing for about a week and then I fall off the wagon once and just can't seem to get myself...

At first month or so, Nutrisystem is very good -- expensive, but convenient (28 days of food delivered to your door once, meals take 1 minute to zap in the microwave), and the sides you have to prepare like salads and fruits are also quick.  There is a good variety of entrees to choose from, and some of the breakfast and desserts are actually fairly decent.  Followed religiously and combined with moderate exercise, the weight comes off at an agreeable rate. BUT, after a month or so, every entree, whether Italian, chicken, BBQ, pizza, whatever -- seems to have the same overpowering "spice" (for...

I like Nutrisystem because you get a big box full of categories--breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. You add the fresh stuff you choose to eat--they give a list of things that work. I'm working 2 jobs and commute 2 hours a day. No time to cook, no time to fiddle around. I shop once a week for the extras I'll need. When I get the groceries home I divvy it up into meal-size containers and stack it in the frig. Each morning I pick an item from breakfast and lunch boxes, grab the fruit and dairy and protein and vegetables and my handy day's portion of vitamins. Oh yeah, and my water bottle. I'm... review »

I started Nutrisystem in April of 07.  I weighed 246 lbs according to my old out of date scale.

Some of the food was not very good, but for every item I didn't like, there were legions of fans of that item.  Since I ordered through the NS website, I was able to customize my order to only the meals I liked.  There are several options that I absolutely love and would eat regardless of being on a diet.

Yes, you do need to supplement the foods with fresh healthy fruits veggies and dairy.  This helps you customize your meals so you aren't eating the exact same thing day after day, and allows you...

I have tried many diet plans and read many books concerning dieting, but the NurtiSystem Nourish 2-weeks Favorite Plan is a great starter for those of us who needs to gradually get accoustomed to dieting and eating right.  The concept of the NutriSystem Nourish 2-weeks plan is to get the dieter on the right track concerning proper eating and nurtition.  The plan is very convenient, easy to follow, and great for those of us on a time schedule.  The food is tastes exceptionally well and can be supplemented with other foods, preferably fruits and green vegetables.  However, in my opinion, the...

My sister was following the nutrisystem diet plan for herself and her daughter of 13. She was getting the auto-shipments every month. The daughter grew tired of it very quickly, and my sister continued the auto-shipments. When food begin piling up, she gave me 2 months worth of food to try. I was surprised at how good the food was. I was also impressed that a lot of the snacks and cereal-type foods were full of soy protein making them more healthy and nutritional as well. You can also just buy their foods ala carte...say breakfasts and lunches and then eat your normal supper meals if you wanted... review »

The NutriSystem program is great for the active person on the go, but it has it's share of problems.   It doesn't supply you with the recommended amount of daily servings in order to have a complete nutritional meal.   You have to add some fruit and vegetables to supplement your diet.  The cost is too expensive for the average person with a family to absorb without going over budget.  I spent just as much for the meals for myself as I did for my family of four.   In the end is was just too expensive.   I started buying healthy foods from the grocery and making meals that were effective...

Several members of my houshold tried the nutrisystem and found it to be just unedible.

It was without a doubt the worst tasting food we had ever attempted to eat. Not to mention the the portions were small. We all tried about 4 to 5 of the "meals", which weren't really meals just one course. The names and pictures on the box were lovely such as Balsalmic Vinegrette Salad. But when you open it it rather looks like something you get out of a garbage can. A homeless person would have trouble eating it. With that said it is a wonderful diet plan, simply because you can't finish one bite and then you...

I have tried Nutra System, found it to work, but was too expensive for our food budget.  The representative stated that I would spend about the same amount of money a month on food as I would on their product.  The problem, the money I spend has to feed the whole family, not just me.

By following their plan you do lose the weight but I found out from myself and others that it comes back when you stop eating their specially prepared and packaged foods.

I am not telling people to try it but just to look for the downfalls that are not mentioned or portrayed in their advertising.

I ordered the Nutri System food from QVC and was very excited to start trying it.  The hosts on made it look and sound so good.  They are very talented at that.  When I received the food, I was very skeptical because none of it had to be refigerated, it was all delivered in a box.  Just about everything I tried was absolutely disgusting.  My teenage daughter also gave some of it a try and was also disgusted by it.  I wasted over $100 on this food and I can't believe other people actually enjoy eating this stuff.  I would not recommend this product to anyone.

It makes me feel so sad for these woman who endorse weight lose programs to stand there and publicly say there weight is 145 lbs. (I'd love to be 145) but then say they fit into a size 2 jeans.  Who do they think they are fooling.  They would have to be 7 1/2 feet tall to fit the proportions of a size 2.  Let's get real and say how great they look at 145 lbs. and a size 10.  What a proud accomplishment.  Most of these women show pictures of themselves at 200 or more pounds.  A size 10 is a great achievement.  Not to mention the improvement of the're health.

It's ok food, but not as good as you would expect - portions are much smaller too - if you just don't have the time - or any self-discipline - might be good for you. If you can use a measurnig cup and a calculator to count your calories then you can do this by yourself - with more regular foods. Just don't be surprised that it's pricey - and you still have to add your own "side" dishes, so more fodd $$ - not an overnight fix either, but if you need to lose a LOT of weight this might be able to help you get started.

I tried this since many other things had failed and found it worked.  They have a good on line support system and that was needed.  It give you ideas on how to fix the food a little different than just heating it and that makes it have more variety.  For example you can take the muffins and make a microwave bread pudding that is very tasty.  Also the pudding is better if you add onespoon full of cool whip. Without the support that I got on line I would not have made it.  Give it a try.
