Most HelpfulI think I've been on every diet that exists. Weight Watchers, Zone, Atkins, South Beach, you name it. I've tried them all and always am successful but I have big time trouble with consistency. I'm all or nothing for about a week and then I fall off the wagon once and just can't seem to get myself...
review »At first month or so, Nutrisystem is very good -- expensive, but convenient (28 days of food delivered to your door once, meals take 1 minute to zap in the microwave), and the sides you have to prepare like salads and fruits are also quick. There is a good variety of entrees to choose from, and some of the breakfast and desserts are actually fairly decent. Followed religiously and combined with moderate exercise, the weight comes off at an agreeable rate. BUT, after a month or so, every entree, whether Italian, chicken, BBQ, pizza, whatever -- seems to have the same overpowering "spice" (for...
review »I started Nutrisystem in April of 07. I weighed 246 lbs according to my old out of date scale.
Some of the food was not very good, but for every item I didn't like, there were legions of fans of that item. Since I ordered through the NS website, I was able to customize my order to only the meals I liked. There are several options that I absolutely love and would eat regardless of being on a diet.
Yes, you do need to supplement the foods with fresh healthy fruits veggies and dairy. This helps you customize your meals so you aren't eating the exact same thing day after day, and allows you...
review »I have tried many diet plans and read many books concerning dieting, but the NurtiSystem Nourish 2-weeks Favorite Plan is a great starter for those of us who needs to gradually get accoustomed to dieting and eating right. The concept of the NutriSystem Nourish 2-weeks plan is to get the dieter on the right track concerning proper eating and nurtition. The plan is very convenient, easy to follow, and great for those of us on a time schedule. The food is tastes exceptionally well and can be supplemented with other foods, preferably fruits and green vegetables. However, in my opinion, the...
review »The NutriSystem program is great for the active person on the go, but it has it's share of problems. It doesn't supply you with the recommended amount of daily servings in order to have a complete nutritional meal. You have to add some fruit and vegetables to supplement your diet. The cost is too expensive for the average person with a family to absorb without going over budget. I spent just as much for the meals for myself as I did for my family of four. In the end is was just too expensive. I started buying healthy foods from the grocery and making meals that were effective...
review »Several members of my houshold tried the nutrisystem and found it to be just unedible.
It was without a doubt the worst tasting food we had ever attempted to eat. Not to mention the the portions were small. We all tried about 4 to 5 of the "meals", which weren't really meals just one course. The names and pictures on the box were lovely such as Balsalmic Vinegrette Salad. But when you open it it rather looks like something you get out of a garbage can. A homeless person would have trouble eating it. With that said it is a wonderful diet plan, simply because you can't finish one bite and then you...
review »I have tried Nutra System, found it to work, but was too expensive for our food budget. The representative stated that I would spend about the same amount of money a month on food as I would on their product. The problem, the money I spend has to feed the whole family, not just me.
By following their plan you do lose the weight but I found out from myself and others that it comes back when you stop eating their specially prepared and packaged foods.
I am not telling people to try it but just to look for the downfalls that are not mentioned or portrayed in their advertising.
