Ok I, like so many people have used diet supplements. This is one of them.
About Trimspa:
Anna Nicole Smith’s commercials got me and I ordered a bottle of these large pills! The fact they were ephedra-free gave me some comfort.
The ephedra free formula by Nutramerica has what is called a “natural appetite suppressant” called Hoodia Gordonii. What is this? San people of South Africa have been using the hoodia cactus to successfully stave of the worst hunger pangs imaginable for days at a time without unwanted side effects. It claims to be a natural extract.
The bottle says that a serving is 2 capsules. I started with 1 and when I was still alive after a few days went up to 2. So what is in Trimspa that gave me energy, suppressed my appetite a bit and shed some weight? Some of what's in it includes:
~Chromium (as chromium dinicotinate glycinate) 150mcg-Chromium has long been thought to burn fat and increase muscle tone. I took it as a stand-alone supplement of years and never noticed a significant difference in either while taking it.
~Glucomannan 400mg Glucomannan is high in fiber and essential for cleaning the digestive system. Glucomannan is taken from the Konnyaku root and is from the same family as the yam.
~Glucosamine HCL 100mg Glucosamine is an important structural component of healthy joints, ligaments, bones
~Green Tea Extract 40% 250mg We are being told that green tea is a panacea for everything from weight loss to anti-aging. In my opinion, the verdict is out. Compared to other beverages green tea has a lower level of caffeine. In fact in Trimspa only 40% of it is caffeine.
(standardized for ecgc- epigallocatechin gallate, polyphenols and 40% caffeine)
Other ingredients: dicalcium phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmelose sodium, steric acid, and magnesium sterate.
What Jo thinks:
When I first started taking TrimSpa I did notice a boost in energy. One capsule and then two never made me jittery like ephedra-based products. Trimspa never kept me awake or had any real adverse affects. It’s seems to be harmless or as harmless as any unregulated supplement can be. This is true only if you take the recommended dosage. It should be taken with water before you eat.
In addition to this natural appetite suppressant, Hoodia Gordonii, it is thought that some of the above ingredients also contains “appetite suppressing nutrients including Citrus Naringinine, Vanadium, and Glucomannan.” None of this has been evaluated by the FDA and when I did research on these ingredients I didn’t see that these products were considered appetite suppressants.
Did I feel full faster? Yes I did but it wasn't a bad feeling. In the past at least one product made me so sick the company told me not to take it and I got my money back. My appetite on TrimSpa was diminished somewhat because when I did eat I felt full for a longer period of time than usual. There were definitely less hunger pangs.
Did I lose weight? I did lose weight but I may also have been exercising more knowing I was taking Trimspa.I was eating less I do know that so that would certainly account for a weight loss. My tight jeans were not so tight.
I think it is helpful to those of you trying to lose weight. I think they may have something real in the appetite suppressant formula. You will gain the weight back when you stop taking it. I really can't recommend using this for more than one cycle.
You'll pay between $20 and $30 for 90 pills.
Jo's Viewpoint:
Thumbs up! It works and doesn't seem to cause any harm as long as you take it correctly and follow the warnings.
