We bought this sippy cup thinking they would be perfect fore our daughter to transition from bottles to sippy cups. We bought them for they had tops that were like nipples of bottles. We also got them for we thought that the handles would help our daughter learn to hold it on her own. The opposite turned out to be true. She had a really hard time holding the cup by the handles. It took her months to figure it out and mainly she would use them to carry it around not to assist her in drinking. The largest problem we had thought was that the nipple of the sippy wasn't very strong at all. After just a short time of her using it she ripped the slit in the nipple causing it to leak all the time. She would chew on the nipple since she was teething and ripped it. She still can drink from it but now if she drops it on the floor or puts it down upside down it creates a large puddle on the floor. This cup would work if your child doesn't chew on the end which most do even if they arn't teething.
