The NuVal Scoring System is a system that is used at Meijer Stores. NuVal is a system that takes all the information on the nutrition bar of foods and using a formula thought up by MIT scores each item. One is the lowest score and one-hundred is the highest. this is a great system for comparing similar items. I was amazed that just the little switches that you can make from one item to another, can make a huge difference. But I think what shocked me even more was the so called "healthy food" (organic, all naturals). These item were a lot of the time either having the same number as the competitor or had a lower number. I have never been one to look at nutrition bars, but this was really something that I love. The other nice thing is that the numbers are clearly visible on the price tags that are attached to the shelves. You don't have to pay to be a part of this diet plan. You don't have to pay for any information regarding NuVal. All you have to do is read the numbers. In this review I did not tell you any of the numbers because this is a plan that is still getting the kinks worked out. Also this is something that will take some time. Everything will be scored by January 2010.
