I'll leave my original review here since I do like the product, but I'm really tired of having to spend hours on the phone correcting overcharges. Mistakes happen, but the reluctance of companies to correct them without pressure really irks me. They show a record of my original call, but the representative only noted part of it. Since then I guess I was being a little too reasonable instead of being pushy. The squeaky wheel gets the oil as they say. They show no record of any of the other calls I made when I realized that the mistake was never corrected though I was repeatedly assured it would be. I finally INSISTED on speaking to a supervisor who was willing (after several hours) to issue me a credit for HALF the overcharges, though they admit I was correct in how far back I was actually overcharged. Nice scam if you can pull it off. Overcharge the customer, tell them you'll get it fixed, and then when you eventually do fix it only offer them half of the overcharge. If it was more money and it wouldn't require so much time I'd fight it, but that's what they're counting on I think. I do believe I will write to the Federal Trade Commission about this however. Do yourself a favor....there's other products out there just as good. Don't put yourself in this position by ordering from them.
I think so many companies actually count on this nowadays. Too many people don't notice mistakes or think they were mistaken themselves or don't have the patience to go through the hours spent pursuing the problem. I don't care how long it takes if I know I'm right, however. It's aggravating and no one should have to deal with it. I don't do my job that way, I expect others to do their jobs better but I guess a lot of people aren't paid enough to care in customer service. That's why good customer service counts for so much with me at restaurants and hotels and stores. I'm actually willing to pay more to get it.
addendum: This story just goes on and on. I finally complained to the right place it seems because they're willing to send me a complimentary product at least. I'm giving them another chance, although I did go from one kit to a different one at a lower price.
the original review:
I tried these products on a whim. At first I wasn't sure how much affect it was having and I can see how it might not be right for some skin that might need something a lot stronger. But I liked the texture....it went on smooth and absorbed well and my makeup seemed to go on well over it, It didn't leave my skin greasy and, most importantly, didn't aggravate breakouts. I had oily skin when I was younger and now that I've hit menopause I found myself breaking out again. I'm too old to be overdrying my skin, however, so I really need products that are meant for adults or, better yet, that don't exacerbate the problem in the first place. Let me tell you....I have done EVERYTHING wrong to my skin in my life. I've spent every summer in the sun and I used to smoke when I was younger and I'm sure the city soot and pollution doesn't help it either. And I tend to have allergic reactions to things and break out in rashes if I'm not careful. Too many of the products that have the best affects on the market today just cause me other problems.
I've been using it about a year now and I can really see the difference. And one of the nicest things is that you can pick and choose which items you prefer as opposed to having to buy a kit that may have more than you want. To get the best prices though, you need to become a member and not just order online. I pay about seventy dollars once every two months (including s&H) for a kit with 4 pieces that they seem to be charging almost $300 for online. (Do the math....35 dollars a month or a hundred and fifty????)
It's a GHK-cu tripeptide complex that aids forming new healthy skin cells to improve skin density and elasticity and restore skin firmness, promote collagen and elastin, reduce photo damage (I should have a lot of that but I think I look younger than my actual age), etc. You can check it out yourself if you're interested. (just remember....don't pay those ridiculous prices) It may not be for everyone, but it's worked for me.
