Gritty and Bland, I can handle this!

By

from Amherst, MA

Comments about Now Foods Cal-Mag Citrate Powder With Vitamin D 1:1 Ratio - 8 oz - Powder:

I use the Now Foods Cal-Mag Citrate Powder With Vitamin D sometimes. As I have pointed out in my other reviews I think that it is a good idea to mix up different foods and vitamin companies. That way you can be assured of getting a better variety and if there are any problems you won’t have been using just one brand. (I do the same with my pets).
I don’t seem to mind the grit of the calcium powder. It’s true if you can’t stand the idea of drinking chalk then this probably isn’t the supplement for you. Many people try to hide it in orange juice and seem to get by that way. But I don’t seem to mind as long as it is bland and flavorless which this supplement is. I have recently wondered if I can get my teeth to re-calcify a bit by gently brushing them with the Now Foods Cal-Mag Citrate Powder With Vitamin D at the end of the night but I haven’t tried it yet. I will try to remember to edit my posting if I get around to it and see any results with my sensitivity on my teeth.
Anyhow, like I said if you don’t mind flavorless grit this can be a good way to get your calcium!

Now Foods Cal-Mag effective way to get calcium

By

Comments about Now Foods Cal-Mag Citrate Powder With Vitamin D 1:1 Ratio - 8 oz - Powder:

Now Foods Cal-Mag Citrate Powder is an effective way to get calcium that will be absorbed. Since it is powder and not a pill, you can know that your body is using this supplement. I like the fact that it has Vitamin D in which is a great help to absorbing the calcium. Vitamin D is also known to have many other great health benefits, my husband's doctor even recommended taking it so it must be good. I also like the fact it has magnesium in this powder, another great supplement for our bodies. The only problem I have is the taste of this product. When I do mix it in my water, it has a very sour taste which I find quite nasty to me. As a result, I have a tendency to avoid taking it altogether. I have tried mixing it in a fruit smoothie which helps to get this product down. If you can tolerate the sour taste, it is a great healthy product and I would highly recommend it. You have to use 1 1/4 teaspoons for 400 mg. of calcium but since it's absorbed so well, you probably don't need as much as you would in a pill.
